Yes Omar, I agree the whole Busiek/Pérez Heroes Return run should have been included! I also think Assault on Olympus could have been included as a follow up to Under Siege. Thanks for another great video!
Hey Omar. Thanks for the video mate. Educational as always. Impressive looking box but aside from the last volume (which I might investigate), I'm pretty much covered with the stories within. These are key stories but there are big gaps between stories. Another Avengers Epic is coming in December to follow the "Fear The Reaper" volume. Not having any Hickman run Avengers is surprising. Great looking set but out of my range.
It looks like the 80's Avengers really got short shrifted. Under Siege is probably the best story from that decade, but I would've added the Hank Pym Court Martial saga from the early 80s.
Great unboxing Omar !!! I've always liked Marvel's box sets even though they are very costly. I am glad DC is now starting to do those kinds of box sets starting with Crisis On Infinite Earths which comes out in November.

Nice looking box set. Greatest hits of avengers right there. Got most of it in other form but some great material right there. As for what they could have added, like you, I’d have put more Busiek. You have Ultron unlimited, kang dynasty and maybe even Nefaria protocols that could sneak in. That run was unbelievably strong
I would be all over a Wolverine set... Either a top 10 or as consecutive reprints like the upcoming "X-Men Children of the Atom" boxed set (which I cannot wait for). Great review as always man!
Those stories as a while are great and I know everyone has an opinion. I may have at least replaced 1 possible 2 book in there with other stories that are current. Maybe replacing the last host and celestial Madonna with breakout, red zone, or kang dynasty.

The books look really good and the hardcover books are really nice to read. Will there be any other box sets? Like x-men?
I took the plunge and got this despite MUCHO double dipping. Aside from Celestial Madonna, Gatherer's Saga and Final Host, I l already had these stories in other collected editions.
Damn that's expensive, but the quality is really good, i am not into avenger comics / superhero comics in general but i gotta admit that they did a great job with this set & the paper quality seems to be very well done as well

Well, I've seem this video a couple times now, plus one other on RUclips covering this box set as well. The only thing stopping me from getting it is that last book. I also find the version of She-Hulk on its cover disturbing for some reason. The way I feel now, it's basically I book I'd never want in my home. BUT, I'm in love with everything else in the set, especially the first few books and how they are designed, put together. I'll still have to think about this some more.

So, this looks like something akin to the Famous First boxset without a continuity between the books inside. At least that one had an excellent box art though
Amazing review Omar thanks a lot. I always dream that they start releasing huge box sets like this and going really chronologically with every single issue. Of course we have Omnibuses or Masterworks books going in that direction but my point is like those big box sets that can cover 400 issues and I would prefer Omnibus paper size. Boxes would be color coded like green for Hulk, red for Spider-Man, black for punisher etc. And only imagine few big boxes per character and you have everything a big chronological library. I love dreaming 😁
The box set is awesome but the price tag of $500 is pretty heafty. But I would imagine it would be more or less the same cost or more to get all the issues one by one represented in a condition of 7.5-8.0 (excellent to near mint no pun intended).

I keep trying to relive my childhood by buying omnibuses, and trade paperbacks. To be honest, even though I have some nice old Amazing Spider-man comics and many others in boxes, my collection is kinda ruined, or most of it is, on the level that I put some moth balls near the books when they were in the closet. At that point very little was bagged or boarded. So in addition to age or some yellowing and general reader type condition, my comics also smell like moth balls. I even sold that much coveted Incredible Hulk with the first Wolverine edtion on Ebay. I was stunned when I immediately sold it for $750. This was more than a decade ago now. The book was in pretty good condition but it must have had that moth ball smell. I wonder what can be done to the comics, maybe ozone treatment, or if it is even worth trying. Anyway, I keep buying omnibuses and tpb and other stuff but I rarely seem to care to read the books. I just can't go back to being a teenager and I find the books don't hold my attention. All I seem to see is flaws in logic, or the simplicity of stuff. I was rereading issue one of The Incredible Hulk, or actually I finally finished it. I just keep noticing how that kid Rick, Banner's side kick just appeared out of nowhere and kept hanging around. I guess the kid has no place to go and someone is feeding him and giving him a place to live and clothes. These are the kinds of things I notice. Or Betty Brant just goes for a walk and suddenly she sees the Hulk, Rick and that commie villain guy with the big head. They just happened to be right there in her neighborhood. There is so much I don't know about the Hulk. I always thought The Hulk was just a brute with limited mental skills but I see he joined The Avengers. And first the Hulk was Grey and then Green and at first he turned into the Hulk at nightfall like a werewolf or a vampire might change. And I see The Hulk is actually Robert Bruce Banner but in the TV show he is David Banner. I know that "Bruce" was supposed to sound a little "gay" so the show went with David. But why didn't the TV show use Robert. So really The Hulk has an alter ego with four names: Robert David Bruce Banner, or however you might want to configure it. And then I hear there is Red Hulk and Immortal Hulk and the Korean Hulk dude. I just bought an anthology of the original She Hulk. I should get that this week. And with Covid 19 on the prowl, and me being a school bus driver who was on Spring Break, well the county extended the break for a week and who knows if it might go on longer. Anyway, I enjoy these videos and this channel. Thanks.
Not having anything between Disassembled and the Final Host is crazy to me. They should have AT LEAST had the first New Avengers title. Maybe the first volume of the Heroic Age Avengers just to further fill that gap.
I can't believe they included the Celestial Madonna saga. I'll never forget finishing reading that and getting so angry, because nowhere in that mess of a story do they ever explain WHAT THE CELESTIAL MADONNA IS.
Loved Celestial Madonna, but like you, I did wonder what a Celestial Madonna was. I assumed they would come back to it in the future but they took the book away from Steve Engelhart before he could tie it all up.

Hey man, no worries. I think the Box set is the best way to go with the Civil War story as some of the OHCs are impossible to find.
I would have traded The Morgana Conquest for Ultron Unlimited, the only thing I would have wanted to see is some bonus content in each volume.
I think they wanted to showcase every Avenger by that point. Which is the way to do it. But I would have found a way to do Ultron Unlimited.

The omnis... are in chronological order 1-4 those would be 400 bucks, but they don't contain the stories in here. just three of the trades.

I can't believe they included the Celestial Madonna saga. I'll never forget finishing reading that and getting so angry, because nowhere in that mess of a story do they ever explain WHAT THE CELESTIAL MADONNA IS.
Loved Celestial Madonna, but like you, I did wonder what a Celestial Madonna was. I assumed they would come back to it in the future but they took the book away from Steve Engelhart before he could tie it all up.

I am new to avengers I been trying to read the korback saga for a while now but I been very unlucky finding it actually a lot of the stories in this box set I been trying to read but I don’t read much avengers I am more of an x men guy trying to branch out.

Can't believe they skipped Hickman's ANYTHING
I cut the part of the video where I talked about this because I was trying to keep it short. But I think it would have been hard to collect Hickvengers. Perhaps the first 12 issues that set up everything and then New Avengers 1-6. So to make room for another book they had to let that 18 issue book out. I bet they do a Marvel Hickman Box set, though.
