you really deserve way over 100k, your one of the first vr RUclipsrs that made me want to get a quest 2 to begin with, so thank you, gaming is so much better in vr
What did you think of the glare protection? My concern with the blue light protection is that it would make everything look warm colors again. If neither of those are a problem, I would invest in both features myself.
As a glasses wearer and a regular VR user I agree with how much better the prescription lenses are than glasses or contact lenses in the headset. I use mine on the Quest 1 & 2 and have used these for about 3 months. I'm didn't get any discount or have any links to VR Wave, so totally unbiased opinion, I can 100% recommend these to other glasses wearers. (Great video as always Tyriel)
100% Agree with Heather I've been a long time user of prescription lens adaptors in VR, the image quality is better using lens adaptors than wearing glasses in HMD's and is far more comfortable for longer sessions.
Ill chip in here at least on lens inserts in general: I use corrective lens inserts from lensdirect and they are also perfectly accurate to my prescription. (It is worth the effort of getting a current prescription from your optometrist before you send your numbers in) The difference that using lens inserts makes in VR are Game-Changing. The complete scene is at the correct focus, there is no finagling with arranging glasses inside the headset, and just being able to put the headset on is more comfortable and less fussy. I can move more vigorously in the headset. Also, I am no longer worried about scratching my lenses. My inserts are not magnet-attach and I really wish they were. Multiple people in my household share the headset and snapping off the lenses and then putting them back on again is clumsy. So these magnet-attach lenses are a really good idea. Lastly, I would counsel users to not choose blue light reduction on account of it making the lenses thicker. With my lenses, they are just a bit thick and I can sometimes feel them barely touching the bridge of my forehead. It's not uncomfortable, but I notice it. So I would say get the thinnest option that uses this magnet snap feature. I paid 120$ for my inserts and the value is at least double that for my vr enjoyment. Also I would never bother with antiglare on lens inserts because glare is generally from sunlight light bouncing off the road whereas vr, all the light is just directly coming into your eye. (There is no bounce.) Hope that helps.
Anti glare shouldn't be an option, it's absolutely required. If you have experienced all the early options, like widmo, vr-lens-lab, vr optician or 3d printing and going with your own lenses you'd know this. I have not tried vr wave, I like the idea of magnets however, the fact they offer you an option to choose antiglare for extra cost? alarm bells. Vr optician have had the best profile lenses and attachments for years now, and you'll notice that anti glare is standard from them, that's for a reason.
@@GmoLargey I understand anti glare for outdoors glasses, but in a tightly fitted vr scenario, what glare exactly would be getting reduced on vr lenses? The light is coming from straight ahead directly into your eye. There are no secondary light bounces. If you could explain I would really like to understand the anti glare feature in a vr lens context
I bought a second pair of rimless glasses with smaller lenses -- and w/o bifocals. They fit comfortably into any headset I've tried, including reverb G2 with the FrankenFOV mod.
Great video! I have really bad vision (I need a strong prescription) and originally got a set of prescription lens adapters from VR Optician way back when I had my CV1. Since then I got another set from VR Wave for my OG Quest and I love them. So much more comfortable to use my HMD's now (before I got them I hated the pressure on my temples when the headset would press on the side of my glasses).
Thank you, thank you! You know I've always been one to ask you about glasses comfort in VR and I feel like having these lenses available takes the cake 👓 this will change my gaming time a lot!
bluelight is only a problem if you're playing right before bed. in which case.. turn on the software filter? anyway, I got my friend to 3d print me some lens adapters and got those circle lenses from Zenni optical. even shipped to canada this was way way cheaper than any other option, and they've worked great ever since quest 2 launched.
For the quest 2 I think having slightly lower prescription glasses helps (ask an optician I'd it's safe). It mixes the artifacts together for me. Hides the flaws better
Blue light has been proven to not affect your eyesight, at least not in the quantities that your devices emit. It is a marketing hoax, so I suggest anyone who is buying these not to spend extra money on blue light filters. All the other addons like blur/anti smudge are good though.
Yeah, specifically 'blue' light doesn't do anything special. Staring at a bright light is gonna cause strain, lowering brightness likely does a lot more than any color filter. There's also that one study that shows how blue light doesn't have any special impact on sleep, it's about the same as any other color (maybe even worse than orange).
@@justitgstuff5284 light therapy and lights effect on the sleep cycle is pretty well proven science, as far as I'm aware anyway. Do you have to study you are referring to?
What zenni optical glasses did you get for the etsy quest 2 adapter and if you also got the valve index?if you can tell me the glasses number i'd greatly appreciate it, thanks
I have a pair from VROptician that I've had for my Samsung Odyssey+. My vision is pretty terrible, and they have been amazing. I have played various games including Alyx all the way through twice with them. I'd recommend them for sure! Although, I do like the magnetic idea these have. But the ones I have clip on and off very easily. No complaints!
I've used their lenses for the rift s and index and both worked really well. Because of how they are mounted the index ones seem more fragile but so far they are doing just fine almost 2 year in use now. Though I don't remove them that often so your mileage may vary.
I don't use my glasses in VR even though its really blurry because it is quite uncomfortable and is hard to put on the quest with glasses on. i don't quite know my prescription though so i don't think i am getting these soon. I mainly just play gorilla tag though and don't need to read(except for name tags so that's still a problem) or see small detail. I mainly just need to see the color and there isn't like any screen door affect so its like low graphic real life with out my glasses.
The glasses you are showing do not block any blue light. These would have to be visibly yellow. Just turn on blue light filter on your monitor if you need it
I dont recommend the anti blue light lenses for glasses wearers if you think it will prevent scratching your main lenses. It probably will BUT. If you put em on and put your glasses on too the whole headset is so heavy since theres almost no space between your nose and lenses the glasses will put a lot of force onto your nose and its really uncomfortable. I would recommend you to buy these prescription lenses for VR instead. Dont waste money like I did.
I'm glad Blue light has been proven to not affect your eyesight, cause I have Blue Eyes. Am I like that XMAN Guy? Only my Rays are totally harmless and cant be seen? Is that why I keep everybody around me awake at night? I wonder if Deadpool could use me on one of his teams? You think Tyrial Wood would be my friend if I stare into his eyes with my Blue Light Eye's? Blue is my favorite color How cool is that? I feel so connected to Device light right now.
Prescription lenses are so worh it. Skip glasses and contact lenses was one of the best buys for any headset. But dont waste your money on the blue Light filter
I wear glasses and I have no problem using them with my Vive Pro. I have a G2 and it is a problem, then the face plate on it is too narrow and uncomfortable, and to use it I take it off and use a normal face cushion with some velcro.
i have the wave VR lenses and i love them but i wish they were not so big around the nose i have a big nose and i feel it sometimes. but there awesomeness.
Please use the glass spacer that comes with the headset to increase the distance between your head and the lenses, Alternatively, you can use the face pad from VR COVER to add the distance. And can you try to use the lenses in a wider IPD, let us know if the lenses still touch your face/nose anymore in these settings.
@@vrwave976 all I had to do with move the ipd spacer and even the headset looks a lot better thank you for the help now my nose does not touch the lenses I appreciate that
I've been thinking about a hack solution to extra IPD settings for Quest 2. People now manually try to balance them between two settings with very mixed results. I was thinking maybe some kind of 3d printable spacer, or cut foam spacers that you would slide over the lenses to set it at these other settings. Hook someone up with that project Tyriel!
I was thinking about getting a set for my Quest 2 but I am still not sure cause I could just get contacts for when playing VR that way I can use for all the headsets I use not having to be just for one. I also was wondering about that blue light protection if it makes colors in the game change or not. I think the price is just a bit high for me to get a pair for my Quest 2. If they were like $30 or less I would get one for both Quest 2 and Index.
Our blue light filter option can substantially reduce the side effect of blue lights. Blue light from computer screens and digital devices can decrease contrast leading to digital eyestrain. It would only be an add-on of $15 for a pair of lenses. Also, our blue light filter does not alter or change colors in VR.
I have a set of glasses for my headset and for everything else, and the headset ones have big scratches right in the middle. I should reeealy get these lol
I was hoping this was an alternative for the already existing prescription lenses. The problem I have with these kinds of products is that they are specific for the user and specific for the headset. So if I upgrade to another headset then the lenses will be useless for both of us which is a shame :(
Unfortunately my prescription makes these lenses so expensive, no matter what company I look for. I practically can't see anything without my glasses, my vision is so blurry.
Well, the blue light filters do affect the colors and overall look, i think some people would not care for the artificial view. As well, the 'science' on blue light is not really there, most of it is provided by private eye care professionals and such trying to sell the extra blue light filters with completely exaggerated claims. Better to let the users add a blue light filter on their own if they feel like it helps them and also just in the hours before sleep.
@@brianv2871 not agree. Because adding another lens will reduce the FOV. By adding an important thikness. And is not free for us buy in customer unit who will be just 1 pair when big compagny can add just a small extra on the final prices regarding the quantity of vr lens they produce
