I believe that this idea is pure genius. Its cheap, its Eco-friendly and The containers stack like Lego. You could put it underground, you could put it high up in the sky. I'm sure you could even put it underwater if you made it air tight. if i ever become a architect, this idea will surely be used by me a lot. Brilliant idea. Kudos to the genius who came up with it.
We stayed there whilst working on another container building in E1.Christian st. bridge.Eric was our boss, sound guy.Our building was 5 stories with an elevator shaft,we also had to repair a single story youth centre down the road,or down the DLR i should say.
I hope this becomes a real world-wide idea. Here in eastern Canada, Nova Scotia, the job market SUCKS. So a affordable home is VERY hard to find, even apartments are over priced, $750-1500 a month plus utilities. If the Canadian Government approves this I know A LOT of people, including myself, who would buy one.
They should give these to the homeless so maybe people who didn't have a chance at first can have one now. But no that will never happen. These will eventually become more and more luxurious with more upgrades and the cost to live in one of these will go up and up and I will still be homeless.
I'm not a fan of the round windows, also I hate the lack of any cladding, even just some trim to hide the gaps between the containers would probably help it a lot.
Most people live in concrete containers so whats new. need a lot insulation otherwise you end up with Cold bridges in winter. Too hot in winter. Nice couloir though. A little bit of 2013 mad max in Lego Stylle..

It's funny how I look at other buildings now as a rubble of dust waiting to happen, :)))))

Anyone have any information on a contact to ask if any of these places are available to live in?
Why are they not going this now for people who cannot afford to get a mortgage.

Thats nothing. Lower income people have been doing something like this for years. But they get called "trailer trash"
This is just an infomercial for container homes. With no contrast, notice the editing people...
