Info regarding Apoksiomen which I received from local islanders:
Belgian guy who found statue was trying to sell it for some time. He couldnt find somebody to organise lifting from the sea bottom.
He was comming to Croatia many times to check statue.
Finaly one day he was drunk and he told his secret to bartender. Bartender informed police and then Croatian government became involved.
There was some request from Beligian side to make this (thief/criminal) guy Croatian national hero or something similar!
There is big worldwide market for stolen art.
We have plenty stolen arts which ended up in Serbia during wartime, Italy (historical glass art from Zadar in display in Italian museums with no intention of returning, exposed to public even with indication of place of origin) and as far as I know in some private hands (theft ordered by Italians) and even offered to some famous auction houses.

Losinj is my favorite island in Croatia. We like to go in winter, because the climate is much milder and sunnier than Opatija, where we live. I love the pine forest and the sea-walk in Mali Losinj.
Cres has some great spots too. Osor is a beautiful and Cres town has a nice vibe.

Mali Losinj is my favourite place in the world, this made me so excited to return this summer. Last time we went, we stayed in a little air b&b up by the church, the views were amazing but the walk up the steps multiple times per day was a killer 😂

Island prices, first of all, the second one is that laundrymat service is not something widespread like in the us and some other places in the world, like unlike a dryer, washing machines were the first widespread home appliance here i'd say, i'm much older than them, i'm 50 now and when i was a small child my grandma had it since i know of myself, and every house had it, so laundrymats weren't really a thing bar for student dorms or hotels etc.
So it was never a thing of market competition, and ofc, everything costs more on an island, tourism or not.
