Hi! Would like to clear a misinformation. There is no harm in mixing Indigo powder or any other natural powder in iron bowl. It's not going to react because they are leaves. This concept of reaction is spreaded by companies who sell chemical hair colours and yes in there case it's right but, don't confuse it with natural stuff. Enjoy using natural stuff. 👍🏼
I think you should put a disclaimer about natural, herbs and Ayurveda, just because it says natural does not mean its safe. In this day and age people have all kinds of allergies, my wife bought organic Indigo powder from amazon and she had massive allergies after applying in her hair. She had hives and itchy skin for few days, she had to take Benadryl for almost a week to get back to normal. I think she was lucky but some of the allergies from natural products can be fatal just like peanut allergies.

I used to use Henna . After a while it made my hair dry. I’ve never heard of Indigo. I wouldn’t do anything by myself at home. I’d only go to a professional hairdresser who used Indigo or REAL natural products. In the meantime I’ll continue with my regular hairdresser and use hair masks etc at home to help with all the artificial colours in my hair.

I am also using this two step process 1st day Heena on 2nd day indigo. Also get burgundy kind of colour on my hair ,but I got much hair fall using indigo powder and also my hair gets too rough so I can say indigo powder is not as safe as Heena. I quit using indigo powder before some months and my hair gets back to normal and soft so now I am applying only Heena powder
Plz don't suggest to use iron bowl for mixing indigo , indigo react with metals and you will not get good result, only mix indigo in plastic or glass container , avoid using metal container to mis indigo.
Do you have any studies to prove this? You seem to be repeating what they say for L'Oreal and other chemical hair dyes. It's chemicals that react to metals. Not leaf powders like indigo or henna.

Very informative. Dr when I started applying henna on my hairs, my heels cracked. With alot of remeedies, no cure to cracked heels. As I stopped applying henna within weeks my heels became smooth. Any suggestions?
This is not a valid inference, at the most, a coincidence. Heels crack due to heat in the body. Henna applied on the head cannot alter body heat, plus it is a coolant. While it can make hair dry for some, note that dryness and heat are not the same either. Heels don't crack in a day, henna is applied and washed off in hours!!
Indigo mixed with Curd will not leave colour. Black colour on hair will wash off in first shampoo. Best is to apply plain indigo mix with water and rinse with water. After 2 days apply aloe vera before wash . Curd cuts colour

Don't mix henna and indigo. Adopt two step procedure Apply henna first (soaked In water overnight) .rinse it after 4 hours After a day or two apply indigo powder for 5 hours at least

When do you apply henna? I’m winters? Not good. You should apply it for 4-8 hours during daytime and on a hot day. Remember, wet henna will keep your body temp down and is why you get a cold. Henna is the most safe if it is pure and from established brand.

Buy soap nuts either in powder form or regular form and grind it into fine powder. Keep a bowl in the shower with you and mix a tablespoon with a little water and wash your hair. When you wash your hair with it, it won't foam, but it will clean your hair. It's the main ingredient in shampoos

I do use this procedure of henna and Indigo. Get good colour, but later after 2 days when I shampoo indigo colour goes away. So I have to repeat this every week.

Ya shampoo washes off indigo. But still u can see difference in ur hair. The natural dark brown/black color. Depends on the shampoo as well. Use mild shampoo. Always dilute in water & use.

So far these worked for me- Palmers coconut shampoo, Moha sulfate free shampoo, For gud results Indigo must b applied in thick paste form. (Much More thik compared to henna paste). cheap & best yet effective IndiGo powder i used till date- 1.Herbs & crops, 2.Attar ayurveda, 3. khadi omorose, 4. Herb essentials 5. Khadi Natural (but smell is very strong).

Have you tried just leaving it on your hair for 15 mins after when you rinse out the henna? Also, to your henna, add amla and neem powder with green tea. Only use this dye once a month or every two months. Don't wash your hair every day. 2 - 3 times a week is more than enough, and use chemical free shampoo.

But my hair became more grey in the area where I applied indigo powder. It was from a very good ayurvedic company.

@@MM-gl9by yes irritation is there till indigo is not washed off. Clean neck with water , dry and apply moisturiser. Once indigo is rinsed from hair I do not shampoo for next two days .

Don't mix henna and indigo.
Adopt two step procedure
Apply henna first (soaked In water overnight) .rinse it after 4 hours
After a day or two apply indigo powder for 5 hours at least

When do you apply henna? I’m winters? Not good.
You should apply it for 4-8 hours during daytime and on a hot day. Remember, wet henna will keep your body temp down and is why you get a cold. Henna is the most safe if it is pure and from established brand.

I do use this procedure of henna and Indigo. Get good colour, but later after 2 days when I shampoo indigo colour goes away. So I have to repeat this every week.

This process works but it is a lengthy one.And mix indigo with water and keep for 45 mins.
No. Indigo must be applied always immediately after mixing. Never keep it after soaking/mixing with water

Ya shampoo washes off indigo. But still u can see difference in ur hair. The natural dark brown/black color.
Depends on the shampoo as well. Use mild shampoo. Always dilute in water & use.

Indigo powder works but caused a lot of hair fall in my case. If indigo powder shoots you, I then it's a relief naturally.
Have you tried just leaving it on your hair for 15 mins after when you rinse out the henna? Also, to your henna, add amla and neem powder with green tea. Only use this dye once a month or every two months. Don't wash your hair every day. 2 - 3 times a week is more than enough, and use chemical free shampoo.

Being Fiery doesn't mean you are " Pitta" type but firey nature can raise your Pitta causing trouble
Haritaki rinsing brushing teeth can help throw out the heaty / fiery from mind body. Take 1 tsp Haritaki with warm water the very last thing before sleep

before I decide to start, I want to know if this henna has metallic salts as you can not ever use chemical hair dyes again if you use Henna with the metallic salts as it causes a chemical reaction on your hair ( it will fall off).
