“The Holiday of Christmas “ People celebrate this day for many reasons. Many Christians believe they are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, but Jesus was not born on December 25th. The holiday predates His birth. It went by various name, the Romans called it “Saturnalia” after the pagan god Saturn. It was a time of drunkenness and debauchery. It maintained this character even after the Catholic Church changed its name. Most of our traditions are based on pagan practices. The Xmas tree came to us from pagan tree worship that began in ancient Babylon. Santa Claus was named after a Catholic Saint but most of his attributes were derived from a combination of pagan Norse gods. We probably shouldn’t LIE to our children about his existence either. Early Protestants knew that it was a pagan festival and refused to participate. It was actually outlawed in some American cities even into the 1800s. It wasn’t until Madison Avenue transformed it into the family event we know today that it became so popular. For these reasons I have decided to not celebrate Christmas, or at least not celebrate it the way everyone else does. I am not judging anyone. Nor do not care what others think. But everybody should know the truth in order to decide for themselves.
Every religions have their own doctrines , you should share this information only to your SDA churches, not to the world. We should build peace to each one of religions . Not try to make a judgement to each other.
