@@hottomek7423 even pre rolls are bad i have homies that work there still that tell me they use 2 pounds of ground up stems for every 3 pounds of trim, they won’t even put shake in there everything is about cutting costs. buds that fall on the floor aka floor waste (including shake) are all swept up and used to make their carts

When I grew indoor using an organic soilless mix, I collected banana peels and dried them, then ground them up to a fine powder in a coffee grinder and mixed it in with the soil.
The bud had a distinct banana smell.
Heard of them doing similar with blueberry/strawberry leaves/waste.

So true I worked at a medical marijuana facility and it’s appalling what they do to the buds and how old a lot of it is and how it sits in warehouses for years and then gets put in a bottle another six months later and doesn’t need to be dated until it’s put in the bottle on top of the radiation machines homegrown is the way to go

Those terp sprayed packs are very common in NYC, but in upstate NY we don't really see sprayed stuff, one brand tried and was charging $50 for an eighth, but they got called out and dropped prices to $25 and we're not seen again.

I'm over in the falls. We see this shit all the time here. What I see a lot more commonly is weed that's been rolled to knock off all of the trichromes and then sprayed with THCA to give back it's potency.

Here’s another thing:
Hash oil and dabs is usually made from garage buds… like moldy trash buds. Because of solvents being used in some hash making the mold can be removed. They then add terps so it tastes like “kush” and the brand has a consistent flavor
Also they only test for solvents / mold / chemicals at the end. If no solvents, molds or chems are detected it passes the test.
At the end of the day if it’s clean it sells.
I’m sure if you found out how McDonald’s makes a Big Mac you might not want eat another one.
Weed has been very corporatised over the past few years. I never thought they would do to marijuana what they have been doing to tobacco and alcohol products (i.e. rerocking, artificial flavouring and chemical potency enhancement). Though, in hindsight, this is quite inevitable for any legal recreational psychoactive substance. I bet it would happen to cocaine, if it were to be legalised.
They kinda do this for everything in our lives now. Food, drugs, hygiene products, makeup, clothes. You have to pay a premium or look harder to get real leather, real soap, real cheese, real weed, real anyrhing. Even water, they put stuff in water to make it taste better.

As a home grower with more than 30 years experience, I can tell you commercial weed is nothing like natural craft bud. Dispensary weed is a crime against nature.
My mind is blown Gobby. Yet again you have opened my mind to a crazy fact I didnt know.
People are generally willing to be dishonest and scummy when there is a potential to make money, corporations put that mentality into overdrive. if there’s an industry, that’s not being closely monitored and tightly regulated they’re doing every unscrupulous thing imaginable to increase their profits and they’re paying people to think of new ones.
I feel like if they were required to disclose the use of The Box, then people would know oh, this stuff is garbage and then the supply and demand would catch up to it, making it dirt cheap: which would be a win. Then, these companies are left primarily with two options, either a) stop using the machine and take the loss on the investment, or b) rebrand it into something that might be good and appealing. For example, they take some GAS and then put more terpines into it and get the moisture level perfect, package it as “ TurboTerps “ or something to the effect, and boom we got flavored high quality weed on the market as a novelty item.
I feel like they been doing something similar with cigars for a hot minute.
Cigars might be a bad example. Generally the flavored ones are trashy and dirt cheap. Think 99¢ swisher 🤮

there definitely needs to be some regulations on this. not only do I expect fresh weed but I have a really hard time believing they're getting all of the dangerous stuff out of the moldy weed, and as someone who lives in a medical state I can't help but think of the cancer patients and stuff who have a compromised immune system and how this would affect them since they can't necessarily find a different dispensary or stop consuming weed

Bought a few 1/8ths on a whim the other day and they were so dry and tasteless that I returned them, I hate that newbies think this is what Cannabis is. IMO we don't need a machine or more commercial growers, we need to encourage and legalize small craft farmers. Sprayed cannabis shouldn't be allowed to be labelled as "Cannabis Flower".

Dude yes I’ve been seeing this. Normally I don’t see anything past 28 percent in most dispos. But recently I’ve been going to more different dispos in Michigan and they have these bulk ozs for like 30 $ that are pushing 30+ thc. Looks like shit really dark dry and smells off.
We were hitting 35% back in the 2010s during cannabis cups and the big global events. The Dutch were hitting 40%
This is the exact reason why I have taught myself how to grow my own weed lol. I’ve gotten laced shit before and since that second time I stopped smoking all together, but now that it’s legal where I’m at I said fuck it I’m just gonna grow my own shit, I’d truly recommend just growing your own weed to anybody, fresh weed is the best weed.

Which is exactly what leads to private business being able to tamper with the weed because it makes them more money. We need national safety standards for our weed just like how we have national safety standards for are food being sold out of restaurants, it’s for the basic health of the consumer.

Massachusetts really is one of the better states for weed regulations. You guys do it even better than California imo. I only use edibles and tinctures now, but when I used to use carts they definitely had the strictest testing that I’ve ever seen and the product usually is very good. Not here in New York you have to guess which products are okay to use which ones are not it’s a nightmare rn
@@Iamfadedafyes scan the QR code/find lab results EVERY time. If the number on the packaging isn’t the number on the lab result it’s fake, yes even licensed dispensaries were caught doing this. If you are buying flower don’t buy anything like “strawberry raspberry lemonade” or “ultra triple berry cherry gelato” that it’s obvious it went through the machine to do that. Try to buy just plain weed or OG kush or just something as natural as possible.
Honestly, I am more concerned with the lack of mental health support that was supposed to accompany legalization.

That said, I’ve definitely had sprayed weed that had vape like terps from mutual friends lol. (Edited: trying to say, non-sprayed legitimate weed and hash I’ve had blows my mind in the flavors they produce. So just cuz ur weed maybe doesn’t taste like bland normal weed doesn’t mean it’s sprayed.)

Even worse, a lot of the recreational "gifting and donation" shops in D.C. sell flower that reeks of isobutane or has been through a mechanical trichome extraction process.

For this reason is why I learned to cultivate. With future tech, if I don’t cultivate for myself, then I will not consume.
As some one who works in the industry - not as many brands use infusion systems, most just spray and still its a small % of total product produced. The sprayed terps are a thing mostly in East coast consumer markets, especially in the black market. It's hype.
The analogy to Johnny Walker Blue is extremely accurate and funny. If you're going to be dropping $200+ on a bottle of scotch, you can get far better bottles.

This is actually misinformation on this piece of equipment. 😂 it doesn't magically turn moldy product to clean. It's sterilization is microbial, it will not get rid of mold. Wish more people researched and learned the processing portion of the business instead of misleading others.
I mean yeah it kills microbial bacteria and molds, but the way he's thinking this device is being used seems to be misconstrued

This is why I get all my goods from my Caregiver who does everything properly. All of his concentrates are made using CO2 instead of Butane and his flowers are some of the highest quality grown properly without any chemical fertilizers or growth accelerants.
I think it's fantastic that garbage bud can get converted into good bud with this technology, they just need to be upfront and honest about it
