I've had both recently in Hong Kong. KFC is reasonable but Jollibee is on a different level : the chicken is consistently fresh and tasty and the gravy is so nice. I'm surprised KFC can actually compete with them.
The prices of fast food are insane! £10.49 for a KFC! and £12 for a Jollibee meal! No wonder people are going to Greggs. At least they aren't ripping people off.

Greggs are just as bad and is defo a rip off for what it is and compared to it's prices years ago... Yes it is cheaper than kfc obviously but it's always been cheaper anyway, I bet if you worked out the price increases over the years they would be around the same. I honestly don't get greggs it's the most bland mediocre shite, the only thing it had going for it back in the day was the fact it WAS cheap.

Not just the bakes, sausage rolls etc but the sandwiches, rolls, baguettes etc which are vastly superior to any supermarket ready made sandwiches. Just recently i got two sandwiches, two packs of crisps, two drinks and cakes for under £10. So yes it is cheap compared to fast food, hence why it is so successful.

Jollibee is a Filipino fast food chain. It is great to see a fast food chain that does not originate from the US. I only wish they would open one here in Malta.
What I’m lovely is in the U.K. you can get tubs of gravy. Here in Australia we can’t get that. I’d love it. We only get the gravy in a potato and gravy tub and there’s too much gravy as it makes the potato watery.
I thought the JB fries looked much better, but then you didn't get the hash brown in the KFC burger! Peach pie looked good though. I'd agree with a tie.
I've had Jollibee in the Philippines, Canada and the U.S. and it beats KFC every time. The spicy can blow you away in the Philippines; haven't tried it in the U.K., yet. Steer clear of their spaghetti though...it's bizarrely sweet.

like most places now it does seem expensive for such a small amount of food they must be making a fortune out of people. if there is more than 1 person would say better value would be one of there buckets it may still be even better than spending over £10 on that I can not afford to eat at any of these places unless your going to take me to dinner. hehehe I will just have to make it at home for far less than £2 for what that was

Jolibee has been in the U.K. for at least 5 years. I had it in 2018 at their Earls Court branch (I was familiar with it from 20 years ago when visiting Hong Kong). I’ve also had it in Doha (Qatar). Always a good meal.

The chips at kfc are probably the worst of all the fast food chains, having tasted kfc, popeyes, jollibee, morleys and the independent chicken shops - i much prefer the independents as you can get bigger portions for your money and the fries are normally the skinny ones that i prefer

KFC is terrible imo. I only buy their fillet burgers. The batter is always soggy, the chicken is dry and the last couple of times I bought food from there, it was lukewarm. I've only tried Jollibee once, but it was definitely better than KFC. The chicken was actually juicy and the batter was crispy. I also tried a Korean chicken place in Manchester called Chimaek. I got a kimchi chicken burger. The batter was pretty soggy from the kimchi, but overall, the burger tasted nice. I will say they put too much salt on their fries though. So much so that my lips were stinging after eating them.

Back when I was a wee youngster the price for that meal from KFC would have gotten you a bucket of their chicken. And it would have tasted better. They've really gone down hill a lot. I've never had Jollibee's but I've heard good things about it. My problem is that I currently live in the chicken producing capital of the United States... and I can't find decent fried chicken here for love or money. Tenders, nuggets, even wings, but not old fashioned fried chicken. The deli at the local grocery store where I used to live fixed great fried chicken... 8 pieces for something like 5 pounds UK. I miss it... but probably good for my arteries I can't get it every week!
Last two times I've been to KFC the chicken tasted burnt. Yours looked slightly overdone. Back in the 80s they did BBQ Spare Ribs, they were amazing and hopefully one day they'll return. Also KFC often look like the restaurant needs a good clean.

KFC is disgusting. Their chips are skanky and the quality of their chicken pieces is bad. It's really expensive as well (not worth the money). The oil and salt in the food is in the extreme, leaving a nasty after taste. They don't do sugar drinks either, so all you'll have to wash down the salt, oil and eye-laden skins from the unpeeled potatoes with some aspartame-laden chemical drink. Jollibee looked really good. Those prices though looked stinging.
really spending over £10 for a single bit of chicken put in a bun is madness. it is such poor value for money. for what you paid for them you can get 2 meals at brewers fayre on there special deals. What was there in KFC chips 14 of them there is a scam to start with. a tiny pot of gravy you can make for pennies at home At worst you should have go there special 2 burgers and chips deal for £6.99 i think vs that. Both are not really worth more than a £5.
