I've listened to a lot of Southern Gospel songs and that formed my playing. I can play other genres but country is my "comfort" zone.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. This is exactly the kind of country piano style I would love to learn how to play. There are not a lot of tutorials on youtube for this particular style so I would be very grateful if you could share more tutorials on basic country techniques. Thank you! 🙏👍

Nice. The add9 grace notes are definitely a country sound but dont forget about the 6s. Those two make the country sound imo.

Super! Great explanation of how sliding onto the “2nd” (9th) really drives the Country Sound.

Great tutorial for a simple Floyd Cramer lick. The only thing I would add is to avoid playing any dominant 7th chords (like a C7 in the key of C). Classic country tends to keep the chords fairly straight without using those modifiers.
    Great vid!

according to what i read from hank locklin,...on the demo tape of "please help me im falling" co-writer don Robertson played the piano and he used the slip note ..then they discussed having Cramer copy that technique on the studio recording ... and the rest is history

Actually it was Don Robertson who invented the slip note in his early years of learning to play the piano. He then passed it on to be played by Cramer on some of his early recordings.
