I'm a tattooed, make up wearing, eclectic dressing, agnostic, wife and mother. Here I am, binging your videos. I think you are a light and super delightful to watch. I think it is fascinating that even though we have totally different lives, I can find so much in common with you. Cheers to a world where people from different walks can be brought together. Great content.

Megan, sweetie, please stop feeling like you need to apologize for your home. We all know you just moved there and are excited to see all the changes you make along the way.
Please don’t feel discouraged by it. You are so ahead of the game at such a young age. You all have just bought what you consider to be your forever home. Also, remember to never judge your chapter one by someone else’s chapter 29. You will get there and you will be all the more happy because you and Josh did it yourselves.
Plus, this new adventure is going to give you a ton more amazing videos options. You’re set! 😂

I have been feeling very alone for many years. Moving 7 times in 7 years leaves very little time to establish meaningful relationships, and all along the way I was either pregnant or nursing, baby after baby. It was hard to find a new home, new church, manage the home, homeschool and find time for building friendships. Your video about how to sew a dress with with two seams is how I found your channel and subscribed. I am not a binge watcher of anything normally but sermons, those preachers have become my friends over the years, they don't know it! Hahaha I teared up yesterday watching your beautiful life, and even now I tear up, I had to repent for being covetous, I didn't mean to, it's hard not to. It is not your things, or your husband, or children, for I have plenty ❤️...it is your joy and energy. I used to be like that, and have cried out to the Lord to renew me. Pray for me and forgive me Sister. I feel so thankful I stumbled upon your channel, because it gives me joy to see other like minded Godly woman enjoying their high calling to be a loving wife, mother and neighbor. Thanks for letting us be a part of your day, this simple gesture is such a kindness and gives me joy! God keep you drawn near, His loving kindness shine upon you, His peace be with you and His love overflow from you and the warmth of His love drawing others closer to Him 🙏❤️

I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I have felt the same way often throughout my married life. My husband's job has moved us 10 times in 13 years. During these moves I have been either pregnant or nursing and homeschooling. It's extremely hard!

I'm pretty certain that Megan just hasn't personalized it to her taste yet. A new home always takes some adjustment, and other's aesthetics aren't always to the preference of each individual. That being said, her home DOES look great! So much room to move around, beautiful surroundings in the yard that can be seen from inside, and everything about Megan and her little family exudes youthful, joyful, happiness! That's truly the most important part of a home.

She knows her house is big, that’s why she loves it. It just is not decorated the way she wants it. I know how she feels, my house is beautiful, but I hate the floors and the colour of the cabinets, and can’t wait to upgrade it. Our house is only 10 years old!!

Hello! I'm a Christian wife, mom of 2, mechanical engineer, cook/baker, former stay-at-home-mom, Montessori parent, gardener, triathlete, long-distance cyclist, and crafter! You showed up in my feed, and I've been watching your videos while doing some data analysis, and am also getting inspired to step up my house-cleaning game! I love that you're upbeat, cheerful, and just do the work that needs to be done - it's not all about tips, tricks, etc., but just regularly resetting our homes.
My husband is a scientist, Christian, dad, and definitely holds up his end of the housework. We live in a townhouse in the greater Chicago area. We've lived in several places and different homes (apartments, single family home, etc.), and while I do occasionally miss having my own garden and a private yard, right now, our townhouse really serves our life well - we get to spend more time on the weekends and summer evenings wandering our community, hanging out with our kids, friends, and family, etc. vs. taking care of a yard. I'm able to volunteer with my kids' school and the school garden because I'm not caring for one at home.
I love seeing how your life rolls along, and I'm eagerly watching how you deal with 2 kids under 2 - my niece just celebrated her first birthday, and two weeks later her mom, my husband's sister, announced she was pregnant again and due in April! My kids are 3 years apart, so by the time #2 came, #1 was independent enough to get his own snacks and play by himself while I nursed. She's going to have a much different experience!

You have a wonderful home. I know you want to put your own touches to it, but feel blessed for the room you have. I raised two boys in a small home with 1 bathroom. We are still here and the boys are now men. No upgrading for me. Now that I'm 64 I thank the Lord I don't have that much to clean. lol I have a galley kitchen and it makes it hard to do canning or cooking holiday meals but I've gotten use to it threw the years. Your daughter is precious and your baby too. Thanks for posting, you got me in the mood to clean.

Hi Megan! I recently discovered your channel, and heard at 3:35 that you loved the thought of homeschooling.
I’ve been homeschooled pretty much my whole life. I attended first grade public school, but ended up having a lot of trouble in school, my mother decided she could do way better and pulled me out and started homeschooling me. At first, she had no idea what she was doing! But after a lot of research and prayer she decided to take that leap of faith. 18 years later, she graduated one successfully and is now trying to graduate one more and teaching another. :) I know many, especially young moms find it hard to do, and most don’t do it at all because they think they can’t. I also know the family’s situation isn’t always where it needs to be to homeschool, like ours was, but it will always work out. I strongly encourage you to look more into it. Homeschooling changed our lives, and my parents took the verse to parents teaching their children to heart. Mom experienced so much joy homeschooling us and best of all, she got to have us home with her, and got to enjoy us when we were young before we grew up and weren’t little anymore. I hope you don’t mind me sharing a thought. Continue making videos, I love this channel! You have a wonderful family.

"I live in America" actually you live in lancaster ;) it wasn't till I moved to Lancaster and saw all the mennonite homes that are top notch that I started feeling self conscious about my decor, etc. I think the house looks great the way it is, but I also understand the enjoyment of making the place your own! :) have fun!

Might I suggest ... a girlfriend of mine just had her kitchen redone, and found that the summer was the best time to do this! They were able to use their bbq a lot for meals, eat outside at times, and even use their camper’s little kitchen with relative ease. I’m not sure how your autumns/winters are, but we get quite a bit of rain and chill. Just a thought!
And I also let my little ones jump on the bed ... they love it so much, so why not? ;)

My problem is that I never seem to have time, but I think that's an almost universal theme! By the way,I went to a Mennonite college in Kansas, and my professors were much like you. I’m in LOVE with the size of your kitchen! I understand what you mean though when you say you’re personally not happy with it, it does look more on the “darker” side. Have you thought about changing up your hardwares? New hinges and pulls (like silver) could be the perfect simple touch until you’re ready to really go for it. You can also put light colored hand towels out as well to bring those pops of color. Homeschool mom tip, do an art project with your kiddos (finger painting or similar) then you can frame it for inexpensive art and a bonding moment. Good luck with your new house!!

Hello Megan and Co., I’m Susan from Tasmania, Australia. I’m old school; I rarely use the dryer. It has been interesting re drying times on the line in regards to where you live in Oz. In Queensland a load of washing would go out on the line and when you came to put the second load out, the first load was dry. Usually here in Hobart I leave the washing out for at least two days and maybe have a rack inside for a day! I have said that when I die I’d like some pegs in my coffin; I’d feel right at home!!
When you were mentioning how hard it is to be patient with renovating, have you thought about painting over the wallpaper and the kitchen cabinets in your kitchen diner? A quick little fix that could be done to lighten up your workspace?
Oh, by the by, I love the brick work fireplace in the lounge room! I see either white woodwork and light grey walls to match!
I enjoy your happy and refreshing vlog, regards 💕

Hi Megan, I am new, and excited to learn more. I found your channel when I was looking for RUclips content from the Lancaster area, which is where I just moved! Thank you for teaching me a lot about the area. I really enjoyed the video on budget friendly things to do in Lancaster County!

I think your house is beautiful! My house is still being built around us. No paint on walls. Hardwood floors stacked against the walls. Yet it is still home we play here, and create here. Sometimes I get discouraged but mostly it is just where we are and I live in a beautiful unfinshed house. Just take one day at a time.

Maybe your house isn't exactly decorated to your style yet, but it is still pretty. I love your kitchen, nice and big and very functional. Lots of exciting opportunities to make it your own.

I discovered your channel a few months ago. My first video was a mennonite Q&A and I came from a place of complete ignorance. Even though we are very different in our religious views, you have become such a huge inspiration for me in my every day life and I look forward to every one of your videos 😊
Also, Angela is one of my favorite youtubers. She also has a vlog channel 'This Gathered Nest'. I watch her for homeschooling inspiration, since I homeschool my 6 and 4 year olds 😊

Hi I'm new to your channel and loving it. I just wanted to let you know that I understand your discouragement with your house. We bought our first and forever home a couple of years ago and although we were pretty lucky and it was already pretty cute, every room in our house was one colour. There was nothing wrong with it, but it just wasn't us. We wanted to feel like it was OUR home and not someone else's. We were beyond broke when we moved in, so it took us quite a while, but we are slowly painting and making changes to make us feel like it is OUR home and it feels SO nice. So try not to get discouraged. I feel for you, but it is SO rewarding as you can step back and look at every change you've made.

remodeling-- start with kitchen. Change out wall paper-- paint is cheap. get a lovely sign or art or quilted wall hanging. Get some cute place mats for the table, a couple of new accessories kitchen towels, etc. Just that much would give you a lift. I would look around for easy and inexpensive things to do in your house for almost instant improvements with little time and money. And if you aren't already aware.. Community Aid on Columbia Avenue. Is a great place for kids clothes, and accessories. Wednesdays are half price so you could by cheap accessories to brighten your home and make it more yours. I am typing this as I watch. So I will say again painting walls is easy and frugal!!

My thought is start decorating where you spend most of your time since that’s going to affect your mood and how you feel each day. If you do your living room thinking of guest who only come from time to time, but YOU spend most the time in your kitchen or somewhere else..... your there every day. Start with your happy place and you’ll be more at peace. 💚

Glad you are keeping things in perspective...that the children are more important than the showcase house. Used to love to use my clothesline, but found we both got itchy during hayfever season, with the pollen that would collect on the clothes and sheets. But do air dry too. You will figure out the ne decor as you get more familiar with the house. Thanks for your time

i picked up a cool bedsheet trick, you take one pillowcase with your fitted and flat sheet in tuck inside the other pillowcase(assuming you have 2 per bed) that way you can grab the set easily and it stores easily!

Yes, I think if you start with the living room by just painting all of the brown wood trim, paneling and built-ins white even without painting the walls yet it will make a huge difference and can be completed in a weekend and it will even change the appearance of the fireplace, which I LOVE. A simple temporary change in the kitchen which would lighten the room would be maybe just quickly paint over the wallpaper a lighter color, that wall does suck the light out of the room and it probably could be done in about an hour?

You have a beautiful house. :) Mine is from the 70s and I love living in older houses because I can paint and peel off wallpaper and such. Scraped a lot of stipple off the ceiling. I loved doing home renovation. .. but it is harder now. I like the farmhouse look. Didn't know it was a thing until this year, haha

Where you spend a lot of time is always a great place to begin, but having a place to "escape to" during the process of settling in is sanity saving. I suggest the Master first.

I just get a big smile when I see you all in your new house! I'm so happy for you! I think where you start fixing up all depends on your personality. If your a person who loves having company, maybe you want to start in the living room. If you love to cook and bake, maybe the kitchen. Or maybe you'd love to have a little sanctuary in your bedroom to retreat to at the end of the day after the kids are in bed. I'm sure it will look beautiful whatever room you start with!

I love your kitchen!!!! It is so classy and rich looking. The cabinets and countertops are gorgeous! I probably wouldn't pick something like that only because they are out of my price range. I would keep them and put my own stamp on them. The dark wall in the eat in part of the kitchen is nice, not me but pretty. But I would paint that. My first project. Something light, white or cream or light sandy color. Even a new minty green or light aqua or cool blue. And I love the paneling on the Sun Porch, but for some reason it seems like with a light cream oil r even a white would be more your style. I guess more youthful. That house is so nice. The bones of the house are great. I love your bedroom, so much space. Can't wait to see that sign hung up.
