The days of finding boxed sets for cheap are long gone. You did great on finding the box. I think I would buy a replica foam insert for your set. I actually found the original styrofoam with the console in it at that 127 yardsale in 2018. I did pay 100 but it included a bunch of good games. I've been looking for an empty box ever since. I finally gave up on finding a box and sold the whole thing ( since I already had a CIB NES that included the robot).
That’s awesome, the CIB NES with the robot has to look awesome in the collection! It’s definitely not easy finding boxes cheap, especially from that era. But I need to figure out what I’m doing as far as the Styrofoam, just to get it as close to complete as possible!

Sad I missed the live. I found lost in shadow sealed at a goodwill a couple months ago. I think an employee put it to the side for a friend 😂. Gameplay looks pretty cool so I see why it has some value

One time at my old job i used to throw boxes away and and soon as i dumped out the boxes i found a vintage 1994 super nintendo donkey kong set & gave it to a good friend of mine at my local gamestore and gave it to him for free since he is a big donkeykong fan but that was a crazy find and sad how people throw vintage console boxes..
@@ElDabstroyero yes man! I was very shocked how big the box was and it was even in an amazing shape! Happy to say it got a new home to another collector! I love helping other game collectors myself :) always love doing good deeds!
Great haul, i though $80 for the nes bundle was bit on the steep side for a yard sale purchased but then everything retro has shot up in value thanks for the covid pandemic and lock down made a lot of ppl nostalgicfor this stuff. Also that seller who brought out tge wii games to sell but then kept getting cold feet not wanting to sell why bring it out in the first place ? i would be left after 10 minutes of going back and forth, good on you for sticking it out. I would find a repro styrofoam for the nes box as a placeholder until you can get an authentic one if possible either way it will look great.
$80 was definitely too dollar, but considering he gave me the box, I can’t be too mad! Totally agree about the Wii guy! It took a longgg time to close that deal haha. Repro sounds good! I’ll see what I can find!
Funny you mention it, because I was watching it too right before my premiere! It’s so shitty what happened to his channel! I know if I lost my account, I would be devastated. Running a channel takes a lot of effort and to lose it all in a blink would be rough!

Love all the content my dude. Just the opening of the videos got me drooling and craving for yard sales to begin in my area soon. What is the game playing in the background at the beginning, can't pick out the case art or name to well, looks like a Command and Conquer game though from the cover art, or Top Gun maybe? Then the name comes up on the screen just before diving into the game hunting lol. I type as I'm watching, so that why there are some long comments from me, and corrections and such as the comment goes on :P. I agree with the pricing and all, but the Game Gear catches my eyes from the first guy, just due to not seeing too often. Super nice haul from that yard sale. I always try to be honest about that when it comes to someone bringing out games they are still even remotely fond of. If they have any doubt on stuff, by no means do I want them to part with stuff they're unsure of. Even for paying a little more then 2-3 a piece, still some nice scores from that one. I've run into a person like that guy with the NES Box, Went to sale and a buddy pointed out a PS3 box, what I didn't know until I checked it out was it had a power cord, camera, controller and a 320GB system, lady said I could just have it. I gave her a little bit for it though, felt too bad about it, but super nice score man - even for just a box, nice shelf piece all the way. Then to top that, the guy got you to come back, and SCORE!!! that's just incredible, Gauntlet was fun, I forget which ones did a remake of it, if it was the PS2 or 3 era. Super fun games though. I think it's obvious on the best or favorite thing from this video, but aside from the NES, I think I would have to go with the Game Gear Games. I also know your a video game guy first and foremost, but did you ever watch the Street Shark cartoon or have any of the toys. Wondering what your thoughts on the re-releases of the toys are. I personally love the show as a kid, and although I never had the toys, a friend of mine did. Hope to get them - even if it just 3 (2 of the Sharks and a Villian), but would love to come across some of the OG toys at some point. That show was so cool.
I'm pretty sure it was Top Gun this time. Yeah I agree, I don't want to take something they don't want to sell! I want the stuff that would be going in the junk heap! It's always surprising to get stuff for free but at the same time when I have a yard sale I do the same thing - I get everything has value, but to me this crap ain't worth the time is my mentality for stuff I'm selling. Shockingly I never watched Street Sharks, I was a TMNT kid, so everything else felt inferior haha. The concept is dope and the designs are cool, I just never got into them personally. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the toys now haha.

@@ElDabstroyero for sure I get that Dab! I missed out on a couple deals early in my hunting days because I didn’t have enough cash, I always carry extra in yard sale season. But that is a big chunk of money for sure! Each Mario 3 is worth $20 and original Mario worth $5 so it might’ve been good! Oh well though, you still got all the good stuff I think
@themattmanera definitely could have turned a profit, what I should’ve done is probably tried to haggle him down a little bit because I think I had just under $200 so I probably could’ve pulled that off! Sometimes I carry a little bit less money than other people probably do just because I want to prevent myself from making a big dumb purchase haha

reading through these comments and man there are some fickle people out there! dab puts in the work to find these games (ON THE CHEAP 😂) and that’s the cost of amassing a collection like his. so unless you’re willing to do the legwork, maybe people shouldn’t complain that he is snapping up all the vintage games. even though, you know, he isn’t! 😅

Hey Phresh! How did you like the championship belt shoutout at the end of the video? I definitely don’t always go early, sometimes I’m actually pretty late. I have a bad habit of sleeping in on the weekend. As far as what I look for, really, it can be anything, but if you find a neighborhood sale, it’s a good bet, because you get to check out several yard sales without having to do a bunch of driving in between, and that’s always good!
