sure enjoyed this walk.. in the dead of winter here in the midwest.. it was a wonderful stroll. I do notice, however, the striking "sameness" between the malls there and the malls here.. who else used to walk the malls, and now do it on a treadmill?
2 times a week, I will take a walk from Macy's to Nordstrom , back and fore 3 times, then lunch there, (Chinese food, dim sum, American food, Italian food, Vietnamese food, thai food, etc.). After lunch, we will shopping (usually window shopping) for a while, then coffee time. I feel so relax. I am so happy to live at Hawaii, it's a paradise.
I like the old mall from the '70s.

Ala Moana mall and Ward center are very nice high end Waikiki tourist attractions ,but I can recall as a rule that most local residents do not shop there much as it's mostly for the tourists that are willing to pay higher prices for items as the average locals normally shop at the more less expensive malls on the island such as Kam ,Pearl Ridge, or Mililani mall or either Walmart and Costco

I have been to the Ala mona center I used to go there with my parents. I first visited there sometime in 2006. My dad would often go there for Sears if we need stuff for our house. I also would go there sometimes for the Disney Store and Build a bear and got toys from there which I still have. Also 8:58 and 11:59 used to be a pond always full of Koi whenever I visited the mall with my parents. I also went there for Macaroni grill for a goodbye party for one of my dads coworkers who was moving to Texas at that time although he has probably retired or working somewhere and is living somewhere else now I am sure.

Lived here in 1983, husband stationed at Scofield Barracks.
In Denver, there's only ho-hum stores, Macy's and Nordstrom. Man, this mall has it all -- GUCCI, Prada, Bloomingdales etc. etc. We don't have a lot of these higher-end stores. Our best mall had a Lacoste and SAKS, but they got dumped.

Wow the mall looks quiet empty right now. The lower level of the mall has uses the similar style of many SE Asian malls. 🙂

What is on the Sears side?
I like this mall and I’ve been to this mall a bunch of times but I don’t think I ever bought anything from this mall besides coffee at the Starbucks at this mall.
