It feels like there are more people fighting in comments and on twitter nowadays, but that can be due to the fact that the k-pop fandom has grown too. I won’t say that 4th gen is less toxic though. Maybe equally toxic? On a larger scale?
I’ve recently seen that some fans who only stan one group give other fans hate for being a multi, which makes zero sense to me… Especially if you started from the second gen era.

I’m not sure about how saturated 2nd gen is in comparison with the current gen cause there aren’t numbers I can quote, but I’ll just admit that I feel that way.
I’ll also add that each gen impacts their fans in different ways, so for you to completely disrespect newer generations, just pushes people away from stanning second gen groups. I love second gen to death but the stuck-up-ness is frustrating.

And certain cliques can choose to wear matching/theme outfits and pose as a group. Later in the reception, there will be dance ofs and covers. The Bride and bridesmaids + Groom and groomsmen will have to battle out who can do Ring Ding Dong the best. FIL's will dance Sorry Sorry and MILS will do Diva by After School.

I became a fan of kpop in 2015, so 2nd gen and early 3rd gen groups were what had charmed me into liking kpop. They had the perfect blend of good songs that didn't get old, good vocals, and good dancing - early 3rd gen groups had stepped up the dancing a bit without it coming at the expense of good vocals or good songs. I liked so many songs. But with each passing year, the number of kpop comebacks I like becomes fewer and fewer. in 2022 there are still some comebacks I enjoy, but they're very few...

It's so nice to watch a video that talks about 2nd Gen Kpop. They were what got me into K-pop and I'm incredibly grateful for it. Girl's Generation became one of my top 3 favorite artists of all time because of their songs Oh, Run Devil Run, and Gee. Though 2ne1 has a special place in my heart for being the very first Kpop artist I have ever heard of. They disbanded way too soon. Thank you for posting this video and allowing me to reminiscence to those early days of being a Kpop fan.

and i don’t mean no dark shade to the current groups, but now watching this video i realized how pasteurized kpop has becomr in comparison to the incredible diversity of 2nd gen’s musical landscape. producers like brave brothers and sweetune were delivering such re-imaginations of traditional pop that it all felt so foreign yet so infectious and exciting.
