These two Sunshine City videos were a real treat. It's difficult to choose just one thing to name a favorite, but if I must, those lucite purses were total eye candy. Gorgeous things in a gorgeous coliseum with a gorgeous host to take us through. Many thanks!!
That makes me happy to hear! Older dealers insist that young people don't like this stuff, but that's just because they may not appreciate the same vintage things. I have lots of younger customers too!
George, thank you so much for all the great info. I have to go back and back to look at all the items and read your comments. It’s like taking an art appreciation course! The lucite purses were awesome. 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE St.Pete!! We used to go there every year as kids on vacation. I remember going to Tarpon Springs, and seeing the Wiki Watchie Mermaids lol. Actually, I've been just about everywhere in Florida. In fact, I am planning a trip to Key West in february, so my fiance can see what real humidity is!! I think everyone should visit florida at least once in their life. I collect all things florida, and can't bring myself to sell any of it.....the main pitfall of many a dealer lol.
I bid for a Chanel brooch from 195os and won on EBay. Lot of Chanel’s lower priced jewellery were ‘costume ‘ but when I opened the box and lifted out and felt brooch I knew right away was genuine Chanel. The feeling in your fingers is lovely. Loved vid George. Australia 🦘🐨⭐️
The Antique Nomad 💎💙 I just dropped off my shipping and picked it up out of my post office box, I am so excited... I’m gonna open it right after I eat my sammie 🤩
The Antique Nomad ... I have several including a little tiny baby salt shaker... but I will never get over that weeping bright silver one that I just missed by not watching your videos immediately 😜😜
Love the plastic purses! The Chanel cuff are great too. So much fun. I was told by a local dealer, only toys from his era are saleable. I would rather have old and interesting items. How many toys do you need? I would rather own a piece of pottery worth less, but was used by a group of people or a family. You can hear the plate say l was Sally's favorite plate, and l was used everyday. You can buy what you like but l like homewares. It reminds me of my youth. Thanks George.🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💜💜💜💜🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💜💜💜💜🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💜💜💜💜🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💜💜💜💜🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💜💜💜💜🌺
@@TheAntiqueNomad people collect what they love. Not everyone has a generalization of knowledge like you do. I just love old housewares. The only reason l would get an old computer is to destroy it like in Office Space. But some people collect them, and the prices are great. I just love old things, like me. Have a Happy Fourth of July. 🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄🐦🍎😇🍄
I'm sort of intimidated by antiques not knowing if something is just over priced or truly rare and worth the cost. You are very informative and making me want to explore my local antique stores to see if I can find a good deal! Thanks.
You can! My advice is start with what you like and just focus on a category or two. You’ll be surprised how fast your eye will train to pick out those things in a crowd. Then you’ll learn that area of collecting and spot the bargains
Mandy, George is a wonderful source for value. The more you watch, the more you’ll learn whether you’re being “taken” by the cost of something. There are some resellers who grossly overprice their finds. Not so with George. He’s honest and safe. 🤗
George, I have a L O V E - H A T E relationship with you and your videos I L O V E watching your videos because you are very entertaining and you freely share your knowledge I H A T E watching your videos because one leads to another and I don't get much else done around the house and yard Just like everything else in this life, you must accept the good with the bad and keep on living Take excellent care of yourself and the ones you love Most sincerely, A Turtle from Michigan🐢
Hi Christine! That’s the nicest “hate” I’ve ever experienced so thank you! I usually only do one or two a week so you’ll eventually catch up in both them and your housework ;) see you Wednesday
So glad I finally took time to check out your channel! Subscribed within a few minutes of the first video I watched, which is rare for me. So informative!! Great for a younger collector/seller like me to learn from!!
Oh that’s great! You’re exactly the kind of person I hope will join the Antique and vintage community, online and in the real world. I got a ton of help and info from older dealers when I started young and I want to pass it in and share the love!
I got my grey Lucite purse for 5 dollars at a senior Mobil home park garage sale. Beautiful condition. Come to find out my mom had a pink one in the 60s. 5 dollahs hollar!!
What a great video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I have a clear evening bag of moms from the 50s, but I don’t think it’s real lucite. It is great to know that some Millennials appreciate antiques. My kids seem to have a less is more mentality.
I’m glad to have you join us! Even the non lucite bags from the 50s have some fun designs. Kids all think less is more when they’re young but they’ll settle down someday and appreciate things differently, I’d suggest getting the old stuff out and using it when they’re around so it starts to relate to their experiences with the family
Enjoyed your video. I would appreciate if you could tell us more of the prices in the future as I am just so interested. Love to hear the history on the antiques. I am new to all this which can be overwhelming but like anything I am trying to narrow down my main areas of interest. Jewelry & clothes are out. I like pottery but can't seem to find that anymore in thrift stores. They are probably all on that online Goodwill site which I think is a crime for what they REALLY do. for the disabled. Still trying to figure out other areas I want to focus on. You seem to know about EVERYTHING! Did you start just learning in just one area? I would love to travel all over the country like you do and see so much. Envious! Thank you!
Hi! It will take a few videos because I wasn’t concentrating on prices before but I’ll try to include some more of that info. I admit that I want people to appreciate and love the collections first and then talk price, you can buy and sell anything but this stuff is special beyond just making the deal.
My suggestion for your knowledge and collecting is start with what you like and what catches your eye-a style, an era, a color, something that makes you nostalgic or brings happy memories-and then you’ll be amazed how your eyes will soon train to pick those items out in a crowded antique booth or thrift store
@@TheAntiqueNomad Your response really made sense & helped me to understand. Thank you so much for your fast reply & knowledge. I am so glad Misty told us about you!
Great items George ! I love how you show truly rare and hard to find items. Did you ever stop at the Centreville, Mi. Antique show ? I think I remember you stopping by my booth. It sadly closed at the end of last year.
This show was particularly good, they aren't all representative of these kinds of categories but you never know what to expect until you go. I'm afraid I haven't been to Centreville yet, have heard good things from my friends in MI
It’s funny how we often don’t do the cool stuff where we live, we always assume we’ll get there sometime! St Pete has changed so much in the past few years, if you’re not still there you’d be shocked at al the new condos downtown

Hi Valerie! It's really fun and I'm looking forward to more when things go back to normal. It's a long story but the short version is that I started visiting relatives in FL each Christmas, realized there's this whole winter show circuit, shopped it a few years and then realized I wanted to try selling there so I went bicoastal a dozen years ago

what'd I miss? I fainted during the Lucite purses. 😍😍😍
Lol that’s understandable
ha ha ha right??!!

Loved watching that video with you and chatting! Cant stop thinking about those lucite purses!!!
I watched that part 3 times. The purses are fabulous. Another terrific video
My friend Stephanie was with me during the premiere and had the same reaction, it was a double take for me even when I filmed it!
The Lucite purses were just amazing. I've never seen so many high quality pieces.
Yes such a wonderful collection!
I love that Frankoma! Even more, the green arts and crafts? behind it! ❤❤❤
Oh thank you for showing the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. My mother would be in tears looking at these things. Thank you 🙏🏻.
This show in particular had wonderful things that are hard to find nowadays! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
And yes.....those lucite purses are incredible!!
What an amazing collection those were! I'd be thrilled to have just a few.
My daughter is 17 and loves antiques... She would rather have an antique for a birthday gift then something new.
That makes me happy to hear! Older dealers insist that young people don't like this stuff, but that's just because they may not appreciate the same vintage things. I have lots of younger customers too!
