  • The Eras Tour has occupied my mind for months now, so naturally I had to read some books recommended by Miss Taylor Swift herself. Now, I can answer the question "Does Taylor Swift's book taste match mine??", you'll have to watch to find out ;)
    Hope you enjoy :)

Surprised you didn't read 'Rebecca', 'The Great Gatsby' or 'Where The Crawdads Sing'. She literally wrote songs inspired by these books...

I wanted to read books I already owned instead of buying more :) I've also already read The Great Gatsby and liked it !

This was pretty fun. I read the Bell Jar twice. I do believe I was too young for it the first time, but I read it again years later as a proper adult, and I thought it was brilliant. It's not as much about figuring out what she wants to do with her life as it is about depression and being an ambitious woman in the 50s who feels trapped by sexism. It also deals with the effects of the Cold War. To Kill a Mockingbird I read very recently for the first time, and thought it was basically a perfect book. I didn't think some parts were too long, I personally couldn't put it down. I liked the exploration and honesty of racism in the American south, but I also appreciated that it was about a young girl learning the facts of life. Atticus is a kind, compassionate, and just man who makes a great role model for his two kids. I found it very touching. I cheered when Scout stood up for her father by splitting her knuckle on her cousin's front teeth. As for The Fault in Our Stars, I never read it and think I'm probably too old to appreciate it at this point the way I might if I'd read it as a teen.
