Michael D yes yes yes yes I also think the same. By the way, if you have an instagram account..her instagram is @nastassja.kinski . I just found her recently..I'm so happy hahaha she's also an extraordinary actress, veey underrated. I dream tp see the moment she comes back stronger than ever! 💘🌟🎥👑
Nicolas Cariosambraz Hi Nicolas, thank you for your message! I don't have an instagram account, but I have known about her since the 1980's. The best movie I've seen of her (besides 'Tess') is 'Cat People'. There are plenty of others, like 'Paris, Texas' and 'Maria's Lovers'. There are plenty of unbelievably good looking women out there, but Nastassja beats them all! I don't think there will ever be another woman as beautiful as her.
I've met Nastassia in Munich 2 years ago. Munich Filmfestival 2017.She was very nice and down to earth. She signed my Tess DVD Cover and took a picture with me. She is great and her Performance as Tess was wonderful.
I simply adored this film ever since I was a child. Thank you Sharon Tate, Nastassja Kinski but last but by no means least Roman Polanski! A breathtakingly beautiful film and awe inspiring at times!
I am obsessed with this film and her beauty and fragility here what a great director and all the actors are so well selected ..the acting just takes me back as if i am there in that time ! amazing .
I was Tess when it was first released when I was about 15. It is an amazing movie. I remember leaving the cinema and reentering the present world in a daze.
I have just read the novel twice. They certainly used a larger variety of words and more complex grammatical structures in those days! That said, the second reading was much easier than the first. It's a wonderful novel, and I advise anyone who loves the film to seek it out!
@@danielarafalt2144 Sharon Tate, Polanski's wife who was murdered in 1969. He dedicated that film to her. Btw, Nastassja Kinski shares birthday with Sharon Tate (January 24th), which Polanski took as a sign to cast her in the title role.

I've done ancestory DNA and my second grandma was like tess. She was the daughter at a big house, her father was a sir and she got pregnant by someone unsuitable and was dis-owned. Her child was my great grandad
I have liked movies of all centuries but since I watched this one it blinded my passion for other movies. and the novel was some how complicated but teaching
I could never bring myself to see another movie with Ms Kinski until I stumbled onto "Savior" many years later (didn't know she was in; she only has a small part as the victim of a terrorist bombing.) To me she was, is, and will always be Tess Durbeyfield-D'Urberville.
We had to see this movie when I was at school, and I felt creeped out the whole time, knowing it was directed by a child rapist. Unbelievable that he got away with it and continued to make his films, get his awards, and sexually assault many others.
Criterion version looks impeccable. Don't know if that's all done over as Blu-Ray now. Must be kinda frustrating for all those folks who spent over 30 bucks for each Criterion when they first came out.
I think 🤔 I understand what you are trying to say! Which is the resemblance between Nastassja Kinski and Ingrid Bergman is uncanny! They look so alike! I’m afraid The former can’t be a reincarnation of the latter as Kinski was born in 1961 and Bergman was still alive a did not die until 1982.
A film that has been compared to Elvira Madigan 1967, about doomed lovers from Sweden 🇸🇪 who succumbed in a forest in Denmark 🇩🇰 in July 1889, several months after the Mayerling incident 💔 30th January 1889 in the Vienna woods ❤️ 🇦🇹 💔 Austria 🇦🇹
i no times were different then but if angel realy loved tess he would have forgiven her . I mean what man in his right mind would turn down a beautifull woman like tess on there wedding night .
This is a beautiful movie and novel that's why tate wanted to make it to a film its a beautiful and sad love story.. she wanted this to be her project with Polanski.. by was murdered by manson family pay attention to her death and the circumstances and pay attention in the movie like tate and tess were Polanski is a good director and he writes good screenplay he also meet manson when Charles went looking for melcher.. like tess in the movie tate dies loses her child the whole nine yards Polanski toke a picture next to the door were the manson family wrote pigs really talking about that they were tied together tate had a relationship with Jay sebring and a few years later Polanski gets arrested for rape of a minor.. like tess was raped in the film its a sad story but its strange..
In my opinion, Nastassja Kinski is the most beautiful woman of all time.

Certainly, absolutely no one has done the role of Tess with such subtlety and so credibly. She's amazing.
yes and professionaly very versatile. No doubt, the most beautiful and impressive actresses of ever. Her children should be so proud of this lady!

The musical score is incredible along with the gorgeous cinematography. Love Nastassja Kinski

I adore this film, but I won't re-watch it because the ending is just too heart-wrenching...
Thanks for the warning. I won't watch it even one time.

Such a beautiful film - the visuals are just sublime.

A truly excellent film. Polanski was at the top of his form in his visual conception of the film. I think this should have won best picture.
A few weeks befor her death she left the novel in Roman Polanskis table - with a note "would be a great film". He made this only because of her.
Who is "she" in this interesting account?

@@RobertoLorenzPianist thank you!
Absolute best version of this film - bar none. The remakes are painful by comparison.
I couldn't agree more. And I feel I get more and more tired of all these unnecessary remakes...
The later two TV miniseries were not "remakes", they were adaptations of the novel. In some ways they were closer to the book.
Fantastic film in every way. Thank you for this upload!

Roman's best film ever.
His films are completely insignificant compared to his raping of children.

This is so great!
This film is incredibly engrossing. I came to hate Leigh Lawson's character (Alec d'Urberville) and love Peter Firth's (Angel Claire).

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the strawberry is a common symbol in classical paintings for erotic desire.
