I’ve been Christmas village-ing for years…and love your Halloween villages, and like you discovered Tim Holtz in the last year or two….and now am enamored with that as well! I look forward to following along as you explore your new creative outlet. Also love your craft room and am more than jealous of your new space…..enjoy!
I was not expecting cardmaking from you Carl, but it’s so funny how I know we’d be such pals if we lived close to y’all. My husband and I built me a crafting Dreambox last year and I’m gearing up for card making weekend with friends. Love the Tim Holtz line. Spellbinders has some super fun diecut plates and embossing folders. Store cards are ridiculously expensive now AND handmade cards are 20x better than store bought. Enjoy your cruise to AK. You’ll have an amazing time.
Thank you for the update!! Have a great cruise. Enjoy those cooler temps! Your cards look great. What a great crafting hobby. I always wanted to try it out.
I am looking forward to all you village videos. Great idea to start new crafts. The cards are awesome, you did a great job with them. They are cheaper and more meaning than ones you get from the stores in my opinion.. Tim Holtz is awesome. I used to own a scrapbook craft store 20 yrs ago and loved his product. Have a great vacation with your wife.
I got hooked on your vids, now I have a heat tool, black paint, moss, et al., it's been fun and now I have more houses than room on credenza but that leaves me a chance to get creative with the theme every year. As for card making, welcome to the club! Been doing it for years and even taught a few classes and I kept telling everyone IT'S ONLY PAPER and it's supposed to be fun, people appreciate that you took the time to make something just for them. Enjoy your vacay, I was in process of booking an Alaska cruise the week before shutdown so I'm happy you can make it. Have fun, stay safe and stay healthy!
More power to you, Carl! I've noticed how my imagination has grown since I've been making Halloween display platforms. It's funny how one thing just naturally leads to another. Hope you enjoy the Alaskan cruise!
Awesome update. I have been on a staycation for a couple of weeks working on my Christmas platforms all the while catching up on about a year of your videos. I currently don’t do Halloween, but you have me inspired to maybe start next year (I might be asked to move out of the house😂😂). Love the new venture with the cards. I hope you and your wife have a great vacation on your cruise. We do at least one cruise a year. Enjoy them very much.
The cards and box are amazing! Kind of nice to branch out. Have a wonderful cruise-try not to miss the Gold Rush Cemetery in Skagway. There is a lot of inspiration there!
Hey Carl, if you are still looking for red trees. I found the last red one at my Michael’s, it’s ashlands basic bush, red berry color. I transferred the branches from that plant the bouquet style they sell. If you look at the bouquet’s Ashland sells, the branches are not fixed and actually slide up and down. Meaning you can make it look fuller by transferring limbs from one tree to another. Hope that makes sense😅
My ❤, Carl is a paper crafter! I've been stamping since late childhood and am a demonstrator now but it's mostly hobby for me. Your 1st creations are wonderful, not surprising! Enjoy your new creations as well as your vacation cruise!
I used to be a paper crafting teacher at Michael's and made cards for about 20 years. You are doing an amazing job with your new hobby! Those cards are really awesome!
Love the future plans you have coming up. Wishing you and your wife a wonderful week long vacation. Carl, I have been watching your channel for a while and enjoy it very much. Take care and we'll see you when you return back home.
No reason to be ashamed of your cards. The kids are going to be excited to receive them. Alaska cruise! Enjoy! Will you be setting up your other two dioramas of Pennywise or incorporating them into your three doors new build?
Omg Carl. I love the cards. I have also started to get into cards myself. I think the card making is great. I forgot about the contest. I just wish I could be as half as good as you are.
I’ve been watching your videos for a year now, since Miriam from Miriam’s Manner gave you a shout out for Halloween Dioramas. Somehow I missed the announcement for the contest. I’ve already made our little window sill diorama in the kitchen next to our breakfast nook at the bequest of our oldest daughter. I’ll make a video and send it in. She went back to college a couple of weeks ago and knew she would miss Halloween at our house, so requested we start decorating in August! I redid the display with a new Lemax acquisition, making my own foam bases. Thanks to your videos, I learned how to paint and arrange the pieces for greater effect and more interest! In regards to your new interest in card making, I say bring it on. I think diversifying your channel adds to it, though some channels I watch, instead create a second channel to present their new interest there. Either way I’m all for it.
Don’t know if u have any scheduled Christmas village time beside manor row but I would love to see that from you Christmas platforms are what I am into at this time You were such a Halloween inspiration. I would appreciate a Christmas kickstart from you Have a safe and lovely vacation
I can’t wait to see more videos in the future of setting everything up! Also the cards turned out awesome, I would definitely be interested to see some videos on the card making process. Also quick question, have you ever thought about doing live streams? Maybe going live showing you setup displays, making displays, or even a QNA? just a thought. Thanks for the update and enjoy your vacation!!!
Hey Carl - do you recommend still buying one of the foam cutters? I saw you used it for awhile to get straight edges, but you haven't mentioned it for a while. Is this something you still recommend or no? I was glong to buy one but was debating between that and just using a hot foam "kit" w the hot knife, curved wire etc.

Makes perfect sense-thank you!
@@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl no problem! Just to clarify, it’s 19” red berry bush by Ashland, transfer to 14” tan berry bundle by Ashland.

Likely will only be setting up my one Christmas village this year!
Ok Mr Carl I'm ready for your Dept 56 Halloween villages! Are you ready??? Especially the Crypt village
Haha- video will be coming after my open house this Saturday!!!
A question ❓ What time of day do you recommend to video your villages? Day or Night?
I like to video both-during the day and at night. Each look different!!
Thank you-All good ideas!!
Cool cards! I am a huge Tim Holtz fan. Been paper crafting for years. Beware.... it'll take over the craft room!
Hahah-I can see how it could do that!!
I would love to see more videos. Can you share some of your favorite card making channels? I have also recently started making cards.
Sure-I’ll do that after I get back from vacation!

Hey there-yep absolutely recommend one. If mine were to break, I’d order another one the same day.
Hey Carl. It's countdown to Halloween. Where are you? Missing your content. 😢
Home tour will be filmed tonight and uploaded in the morning!!
Awesome. Thanks 👍
