I went to DMV to renew my license and they required me to take the test. I thought it was easy. I took it right then and there without reading the handbook and sure enough I failed twice. Last time i took the test was 15 years go. Questions are hard. I didn't see any of these questions on the test. I'm not even a senior yet but they want me to take the test. If I didn't ask them to give e temporary license they won't give me one! I will study and hopefully I won't fail the 3rd time.

I had to take a new photo for my driver's license May 18th 2021. Their computer system kept declining the photos. They sent me to a different location, and the same thing happened. I asked to help after the 6th time. To my horror, the computer kept declining my photos due to it thinking I was a pet! The screen had a red screen that said "NO PETS IN PHOTO". Wow! I know I'm ugly, but dang!
I can answer all of these getting 100% correct. There are many other videos like this on RUclips, I can also pass all of them and usually never get even one question wrong. I have nearly memorized every driving concept in the California Driver's Handbook. I have taken 50-60 online "DMV" type tests, including all of the DMV sample tests on their website. I have easily passed all of them. However, I have failed the real test three straight times. The last time, I failed in two minutes. The real DMV test does NOT have simple and logical questions like this that pertain to a driver's competences. Yes, it has a few, but most of the questions are esoteric issues pertaining to points-of-law with convoluted grammar and multi-part respones. To me, the real DMV test is the result of various pressure groups pushing the DMV to include their advocacy questions (e.g. the disabled, MADD, bicycleists, etc.). Do not expect logic or coherence. It is, after all, California.
You are both right and wrong. I took the test last week and failed. The questions I got wrong can not be found on any of the test sites. This is why you have to read the current DMV handbook. The sections that should be studied are related to the point system and FSP. I got four questions wrong that were related to these sections. Since being a senior the number of questions on this test is twenty-five. You can get only three wrong to pass. I have been driving for 62 years and never had a traffic ticket of any type. Of course I'm not a perfect driver and have made countless violations.
I'm in the same boat, I've been a commercial driver for over 6 and a half years and moved to Oregon. Things didn't work out so I moved back and of course I have to take all 4 tests again. I have been studying the handbook and taken the practice tests I can find online and aced them, once I get to the dmv almost all the questions that are asked are not on the test. I have limited time, it's very discouraging because I need to my license to get a job. I hate california laws!!!
One tenth is .1...not .01, There were a few other mistakes on this vid ...but basically it was pretty good. The biggest problem with the DMV tests nowadays is they ask you questions that have nothing to do with driving or are written to try and confuse you. I remember one question was about how many 16 year old drivers get a ticket their first year of driving. Who cares? To me that is a stupid question because it has nothing to do with the rules of the road. There should be more of a focus on the actual laws and enforcement of those laws...It seems no one knows what a turn signal is for anymore including so-called Law Enforcement. The cops drive around like they are immune to the rules of the road...

question 29 your "correct" answer B is wrong. I cannot find it "legal" to use cell phone while driving when "making a call for emergency assistance without hands free device" in the current DMV handbook. The correct answer should be C, never.
On p. 71 of the current Handbook it says "minors may use a cell phone to make an emergency call", but under the adult rules it does not say that. Go figure ...
I think that this will lead to ALL drivers in California having to take this test, and the malicious idiots that run California will make it as hard as possible, so as to prevent ANYONE from driving in California at all!!!

The answer to Question 11 on this video is correct. You need to pay attention to the wording of the questions in your DMV test. The question is "Your wheels should be pointed straight ahead, unless you are:"
I don’t understand how knowing about penalties for breaking certain traffic laws makes me a better driver. This is a stupid matter, but then the whole DMV is riddled with STUPID.
