the theme was great. but the piece in S1 E1 chasing down Moffit was absolutely one of the best pieces of music in TV shows. a close second in Stargate SG-1. it's better than the movie theme.
I agree. That theme song is epic and was in my head too. Several years ago someone totally recreated all of the music with all the original equipment and instrument settings/effects and performed it as alive recording and posted it on RUclips. Great stuff.
Not for me.. it was always the sound effect first… 🤓 Coincidentally, I started re-watching this series last year and REALLY wanted my own version.. This is truly awesome.

Michael presents a professional, informative and interesting review of the Airwolf prototype, for the RetroBlasting Channel. All I can add, is that this Airwolf prototype is absolutely superb and that Mars Industries Group has a definite winner on their hands.
Airwolf was huge for me as a kid back in the 80s and I would have killed for this thing. Beside the 4th season that we don’t talk about, the show was a fairly big deal otherwise and it was sad that we didn’t get much for Airwolf toys back then. The fans doing the best work as usual.
@@zerocool5395 The show was canceled by CBS for low ratings after the 3rd season but a 4th season was hastily put together and funded by the USA Network in order to make the show eligible for syndication. The 4th season was poorly written, poorly acted (by an entirely different cast of new characters) and didn’t have access to the actual flying Airwolf (likely due to low-budget per episode) so all in-flight footage was recycled from previous seasons. They only had a studio mockup to work with which was used for interior shots. It was a terrible season on its own but it did make it possible so that Airwolf could be licensed to be seen in syndication. It did serve a good purpose.
I’m one of those backers that got scammed from this Conrad person. He sent out a message to everyone on this kickstarter that he just closed shop and gave up. After almost 3 years and total of $70,000 plus funded. The dude just gave up!! And I along with a lot of backers got nothing!!

Simply amazing. So much play value. If only the big companies could recognise opportunities and then take the effort to make toys where you have such interior play areas with such detail and ease of access.
I did hear it when I saw it! Airwolf is still one of my favorite shows from back in the day, and I would watch it every week with my dad. This is truly the holy grail of toys!
There was a Blue Thunder with figure toy made in South America. It was kind of awful. I think there was also a really nice Japanese Blade Runner police spinner.
@@andrewtaylor940 I remember when I was a kid, I visited one of my uncles and he had a model kit of Blue Thunder in a display case. He got me into model building by giving me a Huey kit.
I had an airwolf model kit in the late 80's and that was about it. I also made an airwolf out of Legos lol yea this thing is very versatile thanks to the use of very powerful magnets. I'd like one of these myself.
danged Michael, just when I convinced myself that the kickstarter was too much money... Had to buckle after seeing this. (I am sure I'll love it!!!) Need to get me that Blue Thunder some day!
I had the Blue Thunder from the movie line, but they had two versions. Mine sucked because it had a clear plastic cockpit that came with decals instead of an actual plastic frame around it.

Lord have mercy!!! I wish I had this AND my BlueThunder toy from my childhood! Oh, and yes, as soon as I saw the Lady, I couldn't stop the theme from rolling around my 80s kid memory. Now my question is....who's taking up the mantle to build the Monument Valley playset?!?! lol
This makes me happy and sad at the same time. My best friend was killed last year. He loved Air Wolf. He used the show theme music as his ring tone. He would have loved this.
Growing up I had a 3 hour block: Chips, Airwolf & Knight Rider. I would have vehicle & figure counter parts for the helicopter. I loved the show to a point I would dream of my friends and I flying the Lady at full speed. This a dream vehicle for me. What an amazing project. Great video!!!

I have the two (2) disc, entire music library to the entire series. Some tracks don't hold up, but the main theme, its variations and any music from the pilot episode rocks. I remember, when I was in fourth grade, looking up in the sky and seeing the Wolf and its chase camera helicopter pass over my school. The entire recess, normally out of control with wild, screaming children, was dead silent, staring up at the sky as though they were watching God transit the sky.
If this is only a prototype /proof of concept and it looks this good I can't even imagine how awesome the production version will be... Truly the fans ARE doing the best work.
One advantage that fan-made toys have over the likes from Mattel or Hasbro is the fact that they don't need to bow down to retailer needs/demands. At the very least, they don't need to make a sales pitch for their figures to be picked up. TRU may have picked this up, but since that's gone in the US, we most definitely won't see this at retail. Another is that they aren't limited to an overall "line" budget, unlike figures and vehicles do in a particular toy line from the big corporations. For third party products, the budget would be on a per-toy basis. For Kickstarter products like these, the backers take more of the risk traditionally taken by a manufacturer, effectively making them stakeholders instead of just customers. Of course, this setup also comes with its own downsides compared to making toys for retail. It's up to the consumer on whether those downsides are acceptable.
I saw the Kick Starter.Ordering the “Lady” is pretty expensive. I WISH I still had my Blue Thunder. I remember the decals on that one were pretty military, and bad ass. I backed this as I have a deep love of Airwolf.
