That's not a valid argument. The prices don't even COME CLOSE to reflecting the value. All houses jumped up 25% in price in just A MONTH this year. Houses that aren't actually worth more than 400 thousand are selling for close to a million. The house I grew up in was sold for less than 200 thousand. Now it's worth 4 times that. As someone who lived there for the first 21 years of my life, I can absolutely ASSURE YOU it's not even worth 500 thousand, not even close.
Hamilton was home long ago. Has so much beauty, but also like any old town some dreary sketchy parts. Thanks for the ride.🍁
Yup, for sure! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful to see churches though. God shine a light on them all.
The music is incredibly enticing. Amazing video
It is in transition. Exciting times. Something new! ❤
what a strange title, these areas dont even look THAT bad
grew up on balsam ave s so glad i got out
I never lived in this area but some of my fondest memories are from here. DQ, Starpolskies, Dad's work, Friends and much more. Sad when city lets it go to be called Ghetto when another area was.
Throw a street sign in once in awhile. Its been fifty years since he been there. Like to get my bearing's.
That building in the thumbnail used to be the old hell's Angel's club, that was the first neighbourhood I ever bought in. All the neighbours told me it was super safe cuz no one fucks around in their territory lol! They had a fire back in 2016 I believe and that's when they left that spot
Bring Mr T to live there Hamilton he can play piano alone
You almost past my area at main and Tisdale street south, Hamilton is old not trashy
Has rust belt vibes.
Well, Hamilton is a historic steel production city. I don't live in Canada, so I'm not sure if it fell on hard times the way places like Pittsburgh and Youngstown did when steel in North America went to hell. But from videos and pictures, you definitely do get the gritty feel.
Nigel in Hamilton Ontario🇨🇦
I read the comments
Hamilton isn't so much a place AS A STATE OF MIND
I think the "toxic work environment" was invented here
Hamilton's motto should be "strive for mediocrity"
or leave town
no over- achievers here folks
"we run that kind out of town"
I do find good people, if you don't mind looking through the haystack to find the needle?
😱🥶
Grew up Barton and Sherman ave loved that area.
Me too! Good memories mostly.
There are places far worse in Europe! This looks really nice, I don’t see anything trashy abut this. I would love to live in Ca. Have been there at the age of three and then went back to Europe :(
I been to Romania and I live in Canada. Sure there are way worse places in the EU like Ferentari, but lets not call this place in Hamilton nice. In my opinion I find it ugly. Its probably ugly because of the -30c winters and being abandoned. As far as safety and crime goes its probably not to different then other Canadian cities. I'm sure common sense and awareness will mostly keep you safe. If your an EU citizen you can go to any EU country in the schengen area its not like your forced to stay in romania, bulgaria, hungary etc. I hope one day you'll get to come back to Canada.
oriole cresent and kenora avenue are the worst hoods in the hammer no doubt
Oriole isn't nearly as bad as it once was.
@@AmandaMcKayJean kenora styll fucked tho
@@noahdimarco7449 A friend of mine lived there when we were teens (a ton of years ago lol) but I've not known anyone there since so no reason to go there.
Congress Crt is pretty shitty as well.
@@AmandaMcKayJean C court was the only place i got a gun pulled on me
@@noahdimarco7449 I'm not shocked. Congress is pretty ghetto.
Still looks better than east side Vancouver tho.
Trashy ?
you should take a Trip to Bramptom let's see how's it down there
*browntown*
There was a time Hamilton wasnt that bad but that last few years its has gotten worse.
We lived near one of the areas close to your video and... we did not feel like it was the ghetto at all. When you say, ghetto , to me, that means run down houses with kids running the streets, trash everywhere, and complete rundown areas that you never feel safe in.
We never felt that way at all. Sorry, but your information is not completely true.
I lived in this neighborhood my son with wife & kids still do
Hamilton doesn't look bad. It actually reminds me a lot of my hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. A few rough-looking areas, but otherwise just a gritty old industrial city where the skies are grey 80% of the year. 😂
Depends which area, this is probably the more sketchy part of Hamilton
Drive around the YWCA by city hall
Missed a lot but good video
Keep on driving princess. You wouldn't last long here.
This must’ve been a while ago considering Gage Avenue not having the bike lanes
These seem safe like safe places to me, compared to the rest of the world count yourself lucky!
Im not agree old town but not how you call it i lived in Hamilton yes citi devided on East part and West part last one more rich than East less criminal drug's but still a lot of nice area's
To say this is a ghetto is a stretch especially looking at true US ghettos
After dark they mostly come out ..mostly..😮this area at night is no go area..
I grew up in the east end of Hamilton, doesn’t look like it has changed much!
Looks normal ! Everything working as it should!
not bad at all.
This why they shoot movies in Hamilton. Looks like Cleveland.
That's news for me!
It's surprising how many big-screen movies have parts filmed in Hamilton
Realtors years back said Hamilton was going to be Canada's Brooklyn but this video is giving me major Flushing, Queens vibes....which honestly isn't a bad thing.
Also dumb question but is that Tim Hortons Field at the minute mark?
yea it's tims field
Sad life 😢 Gray days
My body is teething with excitement
I’m the last of what ya refer to as gentrified been living in same house in ole north end since 1942 and watch million dollar homes go up & sold , I’ve been doin history & writing songs about ole north end for over 50yrs got my own Facebook,You Tube Chanel ,Tik Tok ,ya should’ve been down here in 1940s when new comers came in and a lotta people were scared to set foot over the bridges to heart of north end
1:07 i've been around there quite a bit, going around to center mall n stuff, around the tim hortons field is beautiful, just gotta go down roads like lottridge. otherwise? bleh.
the camera goes right down my street LOL, used to look so much worse prior to this!
most of the area in the gibson neighborhood is 100ish years old.
Hamilton is one of the oldest Cities in Canada.
I’ve been through there before and the title is true
*_The despective title does not fit with that neighborhood, looks like any other old neighborhood in any province of Canada, in fact old neighborhoods in any city are interresting because those talk about local culture._*
Not a ghetto but its just the well not a picture of the ghetto but a picture of addiction
Ahh yes my old hood. So glad to be living in Grimsby now 🙌
Lol my aunt moved from Hamilton to grimsby
I mean there's a lot of drug use in those areas and dealing
These aren't the worst areas. Like people these places have their own history/culture/story. Not EVERY place in Hamilton is identified as a "ghetto" >> there are tons of worse off places in the world that Hamilton will seem beautiful to some. Hamilton is my home ❤
