    It hurts to see how it's being used with the chopping sound. It's meant to slide through the food, not chopped

    Whats your point in the video? Are you demonstrating that the knife sharpener doesnt work or seeing how quickly you can chip a Shun?

    The Shun's a beauty, I own that very same knife and love it. But DAMN, I am impressed as hell with your "cheapo" santoku. It sure holds its own. A sleeper champ!

      Haha thanks! The cheapo knife can be maintained with a simple sharpener so that helps! That Shun is a pleasure to use on another level though!

      A good knife is made of four things. Good materials, great forging, well balanced solid handle and most of all, a really good sharpening. Cheapo sharpness may not last as long, but if it is sharpened really well, and I mean pro well, it surely can rival a good knife.

    Oh, please! If you're going to chop instead of slice, what do need an expensive blade for? Had to grit my teeth as I watched your poor technique.

      @@ThomasDrijusl14 if he chops with it it can chip the blade. Japanese knifes are much harder steel easy to break
