- NCRA: Exploring the Universe with low-frequency radio waves.
The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) of India is a premier research institution in the field of radio astronomy. Located at the city of Pune in western India, it is a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India.
NCRA has an active research program in many areas of astronomy and astrophysics and runs both the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT) and the Ooty Radio Telescope. The GMRT is one of the largest and most sensitive radio observatories
in the world operating at metre and centimetre wavelengths.
Over the last decade and a half, astronomers have used the GMRT to study a number of exotic objects - galaxy clusters, quasars, radio galaxies, pulsars, supernova remnants, gamma ray bursts and many more, and the GMRT data combined with data from other telescopes has vastly improved our understanding
of the Universe.
NCRA has recently upgraded the GMRT to improve its sensitivity by more than a factor of three and also to make it more versatile in frequency coverage, keeping it on the forefront in the world of low frequency radio astronomy, and a wave of exciting new results has started.

I am by proud to say that my dad was in this project and erected 12 antennas under his management
I visited it and GMRT last year, now i am making a radio telescope myself.
India needs military research institute so that they can develop their own weapons rather than buying foreign weapons
