@@nisannis629 No, this is a dance inspired by circassian traditions by some celtic travellers I think, though this one in particular has many celtic elements, but circassian influence is pretty much visible in some frames.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this is a Country Dance from Britain with no link to Circassian dances, despite the name.

@@andrewwigglesworth3030 you did not disappoint me at all, but rather you touched me with your desire and vulnerability skirt of fear that the name of your dance may not be from England. did you read the article that you threw off to me? If not, I draw your attention to these lines again :"Nobody has a real idea about why it's called the Circassian Circle". As they say, you wanted to seem smart, but it turned out It's not very good, without proof, and even without proper reading of what you threw me. good luck

@@bellam3503 I have no fear of the type you suggest. In fact, I am the one you will find arguing time and again against notions of cultural "purity" or cultural ethno-nationalism and describing the links and influences between different traditional folk cultures.
You need reconsider what you jumped upon from that webpage because it does not say what you seem to think.
"Nobody has a real idea about why it's called the Circassian Circle" does not mean "it might come from Circassia."
In English Country Dance (often called English Ceilidh) we have "Sicilian Circles" that don't come from Sicily. "The Old Swan Galop" wasn't learnt from Old Swans and the dance "Clopton Bridge" is not a bridge ... I could go on and on in the same vein.
If you look at the names of Country Dances and their tunes from the 17th right through to the the 21st century then you'll find all kinds of whimsical names used. Use of the word "Circassian" for this circle dance is no evidence whatsoever that it is from Circassia; in the same way that the tune "Jamaica" didn't come from Jamaica and the quadrille "La Russe" did not come from Russia.
One thing that some people seem to be picking up on is that this dance is done in a circle. But note, "Circassion Circle" is not a dance done in a line of single dancers, it is a couple dance in the Country Dance style.
Circle dances are very far from being unusual in Country Dance and was one of the ways that these dances developed. English Country Dances started off as dances in long sets, for as many couples as would in long lines of couples. If you take a long set and join up the ends, you get a circle, and this is what happened with some dances. Some also stayed as long sets and others developed with smaller 4, 6 or 8 couple etc. sets.
As described in the link I gave, what we now know as "The Circassian Circle" developed from part of a longer dance, often called "The Big Set", and is related to a number of other Country Dances. It really came into its modern form in the late 19th/early 20th century.
You see, as Americans say, "this ain't my first rodeo", and sad to say you're not only arguing from ignorance, but you're trying a logical fallacy (even if you don't realise it). There is no evidence whatsoever that this dance comes from Circassia or is linked to Circassia. I don't have to prove a negative, it's you who has to show some evidence.
Have you ever seen any folk dances from Circassia? Do you realise the fundamental differences with Country Dance? Seriously, find a dance from that region that is related to this English Country Dance and astonish the world.

@@andrewwigglesworth3030 you are little ignorant nationalist , and I don’t want to waste my time with a British nationalist who still thinks he belongs to the great British Empire that has been gone for so many years. if I argue from ignorance what makes you think that argue from a big mind?
The fact how persistence you are trying to prove that this is a dance No Circassians, do not offend me because I will calmly survive this news ,even if you did not receive this dance from us, and this name fell on your head like damn rain in England every day , but the fact that you stubbornly and very evil trying to prove , shows that you are just a f. nationalist
Just move on and remember you are no longer a British monarchy, but just a small country on the outskirts of Europe! Hello!!

    • @andrewwigglesworth3030
      @andrewwigglesworth3030 3 года назад

@@bellam3503 If you can't play the ball, play the man ... right?
Your accusations are becoming unhinged. I am no kind of nationalist (as I already stated), I know the history of the British Empire that thieved and murdered its way around the world; I am no fan of it nor do I hold any nostalgia for imperialist oppression in the past or present. Oh, and I am the literal opposite of a monarchist.
I don't need to prove that this Country Dance doesn't come from Circassia (ie. proving a negative, a logical fallacy) because there is no evidence whatsoever that it does. You haven't presented any, and cannot present any, because it doesn't exist even in the form and style of the dance.
Again, I invite anyone reading this to actually look up Circassian folk dances (or any folk dances from Caucasia) and see that this Country Dance is not derived from them.

В этом танце ещё есть шаг, который есть у черкесов. Просто обратите внимание каким шагом идут по кругу танцующие пары. Некоторые пары идут простым (обычным) шагом, но другие идут шагом, который встречается и у черкесов в танце.
