@therailroadtiespiker Wow just the opposite here.More intermodal than freight. Some of the intermodals here are 2 miles long. If you ever get out her on vacation at Hershey Pa. The rail line runs right along the park. Great place for railfanning
@therailroadtiespiker I hope you can make it. A lot of railroad history here. 2102 Reading and Northern is running in May a ramble. That is something to see on the tracks. If you can make it to Hershey you won't be disappointed either. They local runs during week days with a Conrail caboose to shift the local businesses. Then the traffic of intermidals and manifests.
Sweet trains and power! Interesting Fallen Flagged cars on the first BNSF powered train. Kewl Huge NS train! Thanks for sharing! Next NS train was kewl with rear DPU! Another NS train coming along too! Yet another NS powered train with mid train DPU’s! Sweet video!
Great train action, love the boxcars on the first train, love all the freight cars on the second one and all those auto racks and mixed freight cars dpu on the end.
McDonald’s Eliminated “Super Size” but the Bean Counters at the Railroad said, That’s a Great Idea. We’ll Call it Precision Scheduled Railroading (PSR). 🤪👎
No sir. PSR is running a railroad on schedule. Super Size trains came about based on leapfrogs in technology. With the advent of smart DPU locomotives, Wabtec software and other advances it became possible to run these super long trains to a degree not available in the past. BNSF runs them without running PSR. Railroads in North America, whether running on schedule or on demand, will make use of this technology to move much longer, heavier trains
@@cdavid8139 can you explain to me what PSR actually is because I don’t see trains actually running on a schedule other than 251 and 252 they run on a pretty strict schedule. I would really like to do a video on it. Thank you for watching
@@therailroadtiespiker RUclips is not really a good forum to explain something so complex. Suggest just 'googling' the term and it will give you an idea. And yes, over a given route some over-the-road trains are going to be scheduled and some local jobs run on demand. I'm not sure any Class I has completely scheduled their operations. A point I do try to make is that...yes indeed with PSR come longer trains. But without PSR...railroads will still be making use of new technology to reduce crews and run long trains.
@ I know I’ve had a few crew members tell me they actually like how the DPU technology works they do have less trouble with braking couplers and easers to operate.
Good show man, the dpus were rocking n rolling hard. I thoroughly enjoyed it 👍

Cool video. Here on the Harrisburg East Intermodals are top priority. The manifests will usually have to make way for them.
@@BeeLineEast we only see a couple intermodal trains a day the rest of them are manifest trains.
