Kagura's death arch is literally one of the worst in Gintamа. No jokes as such, just unfunny predictable gegs. And at the same time, they are also trying to convey some shitty morality about Kagura's guilt and how everyone was worried about her. The only funny thing in the series is Sogo's spoof, but shippers have already spoiled it, altering all the scene in the comments. Kagura is like a teenager goofing around all the time, she learned her lesson tho, feigning an illness is pretty egoistic so I can't blame Okita who lost his sister to a real illness. Also it's just one of many morbid gags, enjoy the show everyone.

But what I realize is that Gin and Shinpachi already know that Kagura is just pranking them, they used her "death" so all of her friends will give them money for Kagura' funeral yet the money went all through Gin-san pocket

Also, when they heard Kagura accidentally said sorry and the other characters heard it, they tried to hide her voice and prevent like she still dead. So i thought Gintoki use this opportunity for money, since the funeral was held by Soyo, sister of shogun so fundraiser isn't really neccesary :v
