Great overview, Drew. I must admit, I don’t get the P16/P24 solutions for in-ears. These are great product lines for those that want to spend a lot of money on an in-ear solution. But a far better solution - from Behringer, no less - is to use an X32 rack for in-ears. It can provide 8 stereo in-ear mixes (9 if one person uses the main mix) or 16 mono + 1 stereo (main mix), and it only costs $899. An 8-channel in-ear solution using the P24/P24 Hub costs $2091. And the X32 rack also acts as a stage box saving you even more money, giving 16 inputs and 16 outputs if you use the 6 Aux outs and the monitor outs. If you have to have faders for the musicians to mix with, you can add an Xtouch for $399 and still come in way cheaper than the P24 solution. In fact, the X32 Rack solution is far cheaper than even the older P16 solution…
This only applies in places where the X32 rack has the MSRP pricing. In places such as my country (Brazil) the X32/X18 is so prohibitively expensive that the P16 is a good option, even if the P16 itself is also ultra-expensive. I can only assume most of the price changes lies in the weight/size, shipping and cummulative taxes. But it is important that more options are available. Unfortunately not everyone has cheap access to those equipments
You do get a smaller footprint with these P mixers than you would with a rack and an X-Touch, especially with them mounting to mic stands. A compact and tactile control surface is definitely a plus.
This is some super creative stuff! Going to be a great all in one solution for smaller churches to do a full WING Package and have everything they need for the most part.
Good afternoon. Excellent and comprehensive video. Thanks for taking the time! I am also interested in a video of setting up the P24 with an X18 Air please.
Nice overview of the P24...we're in the process of overhauling our P16 system soon. We're also considering Dante options...do you know of any good ones out there?
ABOUT…TIME….i’m sick of making adjustments…when these release, I will sell all 3 of ours if anyone is interested. Relatively cheap as well. Not trying to gouge anyone! Stay tuned!
You still have to adjust these... ?? And unless you happen to only be monitoring no more than 12 channels, those adjustments could be annoyingly complex...
@@KenWoLf31 yes!! This is 1 of many issues I find with this. I actually posted this comment then watched the video. I am actually unimpressed with this. I hate the screen. The thing I’m interested in are the fades (not even motorized idt) but the foot switch is cool. But for $200…..I’ll get the new P16-HQ.
These are really cool! The faders alone are a great addition. I will say though from my experience with the Wing+P16s, while the use of user signal offers a lot of flexibility, it always ends up being a pain in the butt to properly label all P16 sends. Is a way to copy customization to a user signal from the channel/bus it’s linked to in the works?
Awesome 🎉👌🙏. One remark, it would have been great to have a remote config/mix option (e.g. to put in a default config/mix or help a not very technical band member to change the mix on their P24 remotely.
Great video as always, Drew. Do you think there will be an firmware upgrade so you will be able to save internal settings per bandmember and/or act ? like on the P16, that's the only thing holding me back from upgrading to P24 (cause i do use P16 with different act's weekly, so the internal setting change every time i change for another band.) and every bandmember has it's own internal settings....
I like the idea of the talkback integration, but for anyone that actually has to sing it would be better if it was a Midas quality mic input that could be used as a standard mic pre when talkback isn’t engaged. Or did I miss that this is possible?
Can I get just one for in the drum aquarium and use the talkback function to talk to the rest of the team that are using the normal busses for their mixes? Or is it only within the p24’s?
Hello - I’m an amateur here. I have some P16s running off a hub, connected to my X32 Producer. If I were to upgrade to the P24 and new hub, because I’d like to get more stereo channels than what the P16 offers, how would I configure that in my X32 producer as it only has a P16 tab under routing? Is there a new firmware that adds the P24 to the routing function? Thanks.
Could you also explain to the rookies like myself who've just gone and bought themselves an XR18 how this could be set up with Ultranet through that, please?
Great video! Do you know if the Aux Ins can be fed back to the console like on the DP48? I use the 2 Aux Ins on my DP48 for receiving Click & Tracks coming from my drummer, which eliminated the need for a DI and 2 XLRs.
What’s the headphone output like? We have a couple of the old P16s and we’re thinking of buying some more, but we’ve found it hard to get enough level into our high-z DT-100 cans, especially for drummers.
one thing im curious about, ofc it would probably not work fully the same but can u say on an X32, use your second AES50 to send 24 pre fader outs or a few channels and a mix of channels and mixbuses with the use of user routing. Something id be curious to see since out from all of my x32 / m32 routing knowledge form the routing standpoint it should be fully possible as long as you have ofc the p24 Hub
Too many creative workarounds being proposed as solutions. Not being able to pan after selecting a channel blend would be not great. I know that’s being picky, but to go through all this “change” and miss something like that is somewhat a bummer
Is there a way to set the talkback so that if someone on stage needs my attention, they can talk through a mic backstage and then it will go through the headphone's ports on the x32? (past question I just wanted to get so help with this thanks)
Hey Drew ! Do you have any idea or could help find problem with my Mixing station app couldn't connect or find network even ethernet is shared with router and connected with Tablet wirelessly with Midas M-32 console !
I just wanted more channels... So why is it that when using these boxes or snake It take place of channel on the actual mixer Instead of having it own channel Comin in.
Looks like no storage options, except for the internal options, but it would appear that you only get one saved setup, and no volume level memory if the faders get moved.
@@Zeeajones03except the knob settings can be saved, the faders cannot. If those faders move during transport or between performances, you lose your mix.
@@KenWoLf31 the more I’m looking into the more trade offs I see for the more channels, kinda wished something similar to the dp48 was the way to go especially having the behringer wing in most places now especially the church scene, I think the dp48 is the best personal mixer yet
Cool, but honestly I don't like the faders on a personal monitor mixer, especially given that they require so much real estate on the unit that each fader can only be used with two shared channels. Really clunky in my opinion. Most users of behringer equipment would appreciate more totally independent mono channels than this quasi-stereo, shared-fader concept. Should have just gone with an expanded version of the button and knob interface that the P16 had. Plus the faders are going to be a far more common point of failure than the buttons and knobs were.
So many issues are being addressed...THANK YOU BEHRINGER!

the only reason we use p16 is we simply don’t have enough bus outs when we had 8 band members and 9 singers one time

For the x32 family, i expect you would just route it through AES instead of the dedicated p16 section. You can run them both independently.
Could this be shown using a X32?
Yes. Using the hub, youd go through AES50 instead of ultranet or SC

A switch you use with you foot just as the name says

The Midas DP48 is an absolute nightmare for most non techy singers/musicians. Keep the p16’s nice & simple. This 24 seems very unnecessary
The P24 seems more geared to the Wing series mixers, while the P16 is more at home on the X-series consoles.
