Walyalup pass the reigning premier test

- Walyalup's season is well and truly alive after the club claimed its biggest scalp yet and continued a hot run of form with a 29-point win against reigning premier Geelong at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
The Dockers were made to fight for their fourth win in six games, but they stood up in the big moments down the stretch to kick away and prevail 16.10 (106) to 11.11 (77) and square their season at 5-5.
Their third win in succession leaves the club just percentage behind top-eight teams Adelaide and the Cats and right back in the finals hunt after their season was on the ropes at 2-5.

In the last two weeks Walyalup have beaten both of last year’s grand finalists!
Great job to Walyalup, they knew it was going to be a tough contest but they’re mindset and ball movement was incredible. Just the way they were able to line up their Forwards and having at least two options per hand pass is perfection. Walyalups goin’ places.

It was an amazing game to watch at Optus, freo fans are the best fan base in the afl period.
No way, too quick to be negative, too quick to get people moved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s understandable, all this time without a premiership, then getting close last year, and falling at the start of this year.

I predicted that the Dockers would beat Geelong, but not by 29 points. This is now three consecutive victories for Fremantle (Walyalup) and back-to-back defeats for Geelong. Another big test for the purple army with the next clash being an MCG showdown with Melbourne (Narrm). How will this pan out? Geelong have got... GWS. Surely the Cats beat the orange tsunami. Surely.
This is the Dockers' first win over Geelong in Perth since 2019 and the first time they had consecutive victories over the Cats since... Qualifying Final 2, 2013 to Round 9, 2014.

Would love to see some positivity and support from all the fair weather freo fans in the comment section who have been critical of their team all year.
