The Ocean 43 is an amazing design that enables off shore cruising but with all the comforts. This vessel is in premium condition. Whether at the dock or in the extreme wilds, she is set up for exceptional comfortable living. CAMBRIA was launched in the UK in 1999. As soon as she was kitted out, off she went, across the Atlantic, through the Panama and over to Australia. This is one strong boat but also very fast! Easily handled by a crew or just single hand and away you go!
The current owners heard she might be coming up for sale in New Zealand in 2003. They purchased her as soon as they saw her. She didn’t even hit the market. Over the next years, she was updated and improved to higher standards, expected by this new team. (Details in the specs). The Ocean 43 was designed for long voyages and comfortable family cruising. The updates to her took CAMBRIA to the next level. WOW!
With a fantastic Westerly design, she has a small foretriangle and a powerful main. The Ocean 43 offers an easy-tacking furling head sail to make short-handed sailing a breeze. Her excellent sailing performance is complemented by extremely spacious accommodation normally associated with larger yachts. This is where Ron Holland’s ideas took shape and provided Westerly with an off-shore sailboat that is beautiful. She is a center cockpit sloop built to and certified by Lloyd’s Register of Construction standards
CAMBRIA is also going with an extensive list of extras that have been added by the current owners, to insure your comfort no matter where you find yourself.

Awesome boat and great showing. Finally some showing a boat with actual sailing footage.
A work of art. Two years ago, don't imagine still available. Just a waste of watching time, really. Except to say I learned a beautiful boat today.
That's enough :)
Fantastic boats westerly spent a lot of my youth learning to sail on a Westerly Corsair.
Very nice sailboat
Beautiful boat.

Hi Amy, yes she is! Also remember this is not a production boat - Every step of the way, someone has had hands on, custom built to Westerly standards. And why go bigger, you can single hand this size, you gain the comforts of the center cockpit style, she is proven herself crossing the Atlantic, over to Australia, over to North America and she is ready for more.
Actually this boat was a production boat. Built by Westerly Marine Construction LTD. They ceased production in 2000. She is very beautiful and looks like she is well taken care of from the video. But 240,000. Wow, that is super high price in my opinion. 240,000 will get you a lot of boat with new equipment.
@@yosemiteflyer 240k on a new sailboat won’t even get you a new Beneteau or Jeanneau of similar size. And this boat would be 10x the quality. It was probably 1MM dollars new
Another great British built yacht
I like it
You assert that you could be off the grid for months at a time. You don’t back that up a little bit. Water maker? Water capacity? Diesel capacity? Battery capacity? Charge systems? Auto pilot? I know more about the galley than I know about the boat. Keel? Centerboard? How do you plot a course with radar? For somebody who upgraded the boat they sure didn’t upgrade the electronics. Why don’t you start with the attributes of the westerly as a brand?
Salesmen, probably land lubbers to boot. You'll hear no end of details about the wood, how big the bed is, and how many people that you can entertain at your ever upper crust high society cocktail parties while tied up at the dock for years...
Actually, I believe that you could be off grid for years... just hit some blue water for a 3 hour tour and run into a storm... hope you like island life and coconuts. lol
R Watson don’t agree. You should have done it here. You make an assertion, you back it up or you don’t make the assertion. Not for me. For you. For anyone. Once you bring up the subject you are obligated to discuss it. At least where I come from! I was a cruiser. Not off grid but I could be away for a month or a month in a half in warm climates. I’m interested in off grid. High latitudes.
G'day folks, from Australia.
In my opinion, the brokers are targeting and hoping a cashed up newbie comes along. Owner integrity and honest communication of good, and bad points, all the way to buyer, makes for a mutually beneficial deal, and best karma....
Drives me crazy when the price isn't listed.
Prices change... this video may be up for years, and the price drop 3-4 times in the first year. I never fault them for that because they provide a link to their website for the full listing. What I hate is glossing over the technical details of the boat while blathering on about the decor, and how big the bed is... telling us that there is a third cabin, and here's access to the engine room - but they can't be bothered to open either door and pan a camera around in there.
If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it.
thankyou , i will not bother to watch this channel!
@@rickschaut8366 this is exactly what imbeciles say ... one can have 10 times the asking price and still ask the price and look around to find the best possible deal ...
so yeah , you are a moron
Interesting. Not a chart plotter on the boat.
nice boat but almost twice the price (this one 240,000 USD) - looks like its priced as originally when manufactured????? - 2000 westerly ocean 43 - Gibraltar (128,547 USD)/ 1998 westerly ocean 43 Spain (107,777 USD)
@@yk10yk I have watched several boats rot on the docks because many people believe there boat is worth many thousands more than it actually is. Some of it is from brokers and there flipping of numbers to get what they want from either buying or the sale of an boat. Bottom line it is very expensive to update a boat rather cosmetic, functionality, or electronics. I say that as if I would do most the work. Most the owners that let it sit on the market for a year/years just waste all that money on marina fees then they still lower the sale price later. reality comes too late for them and everyone looses.
@Don't Shoot Please forgive me. I am not communicating with spell check like I was at work. I am just viewing a bunch of craziness. On the flip side.. Good catch
wow good prices at 120K
классная лодка , продумано все ! ей бы еще 2-3 фута и кокпит побольше , цены бы не было!!!
Hallberg Rassy 50?

Beautiful , traditional, sloop with an outrageous asking price.

Robert, interested parties read the comments, maybe not copy paste the same info each reply.
price in US dollars
240,000 USD
Premium Condition? Mast was Grungy, Deck and Siderails need refinishing,
You are right, Shawn.
Sadly, brokers will be brokers, odds on bet. You can physically, and verbally upgrade and polish an old boat, sometimes for cover up.
Having said that, I trust Robert really means well, and we potential buyers count on the best integrity of owner, broker and surveyor.
I am seriously interested in her, regardless of constructive criticisms, at a realistic price.
Ready to buy between now and Christmas. Blessings to All....

Premium condition for a 20 year old boat! Can’t go wrong.
is there a 3rd birth in there is that what that was ?!

Сколько стоит ?
Great idea to have the nav station well away from the helm, so the helmsman can't see the radar or use the radios.
at 4:38, you can see him show the nav station at the bottom of the steps. About as close as you can get, without being topsides. not sure what you're seeing....
@@just-dl It is not at the bottom of the stairs, it is past the galley at the next bulkhead, and useless to the helmsman. Have you never operated a boat? Leaving the helm to use the radar, dept sounder and radio, is a useless design.

yes, it's "past the galley" but, also at the bottom of the steps; the galley is alongside & aft of it. What makes you think I"ve not operated a boat? Just because I've probably been in more Westerlys than you? Hardly a useless design, as you'll find it in many boats that size. Here's a Moody with a similar layout (nav station opposite galley, but, about the same position vis-a-vis the steps up.

"Flat earth"=retardation 😊
The is something humorously pathetic about watching some guy trying to pitch something he could never actually own.
Beautiful boat.
