Really hate how you ripped it constally for dialouge and the notes and you really felt like you had to rush through the game too instaly go back to the gameplay instead of beeing open from finding out the lore and story on whats going on, normally i like watching you but not this time.
In future playthroughs I will make sure I read all the notes in games. However in order to keep the video at a reasonable watch time I will just cut out gameplay to make more time for note reading. I appreciate the feedback. I assumed people would want more gameplay rather than note reading but I stand corrected
@@WillShart that one monitor had like 30 paragraphs of reading. People watch my content for my commentary and reactions, I’m not gonna dedicate 2 hours of a video to reading lore. That’s a good way to completely lose audience retention. If anyone wants to read the lore they can buy the game themselves.
i think this kinda game is more enjoyed by the SCP universe fans, especially with all the references to different SCP's and them coming to life. although i agree there was way too much exposition and not enough "show and don't tell" it definitely feels better and is more interesting if you know the full story of those scp characters... and if you're into that lol by the way if you'd like some context, there is such a thing as reality benders in the SCP universe and they're very dangerous because they can bend reality.. (for example you can shoot them with a gun and they can turn your finger into a banana and the bullet into a drop of water) and the only way to seemingly defeat them is to brainwash them into thinking they dont have those abilities. that's what Annie is by the way. she's a reality bender.
Appreciate the breakdown. This was my first experience with the world and I had no idea going into this how hardcore of a fan base there was and how deep the lore goes
Finally got around to watching this video, you weren’t kidding this had SO MUCH dialogue and notes. Kudos to you for being able to make an entertaining video out of all of it 😂
Don’t doubt it, it’s just like FNAF fans. “How dare you not understand/read 15 pages of lore for each thing before hand you idiot!” 😅 most people don’t have the patience for that lol
I came back and watched this, and my opinion here doesn't reflect your gameplay whatsoever, you did great. I just wanted to air frustrations with the game itself. After watching, I am so confused. You were right when you said it felt like three or four games all pushed into one. One issue I have is that it’s an “SCP” game, however, it didn’t really follow the sort of expectations I have for SCPs. SCPs in general are approached with a scientific basis, with fan-created lore and stories and things behind it. If it had all taken place in the training facility, I feel like it would have made sense and I could accept it. But as soon as we left, and especially as soon as the police officer character was introduced, I had no idea how the story tied together or what was happening. What happened to the whole director character? Was that the police officer? Was the mom the house? Why did the dad suddenly die? What was the entire second half of the game? I don’t agree with other comments that say you should have read everything on the monitors, because it’s just SCP articles you can look up online by yourself. They don’t add anything to the story except for a little information and backstory. I feel like this game could have been good if they had cut out the SCP part of it. If it was just a girl in a weird possessed house trying to find her parents, kind of like the Resident Evil 8 DLC, that would have been cool and made sense, especially if the dialogue was cut down and catered towards the mystery of the home and the situation. Overall, the atmosphere was kind of cool I guess? But with how long this game seems to be, and how much longer it would be if we read every note and deduced every piece of dialogue, I feel like the pacing needed a lot of work. Great job as always, Swol, I’m just confused by the game.
I think the same thing plagues a lot of indie horror and that’s the failure to have a single well though out cohesive story. It’s almost like people are so excited to get into the game design portion that they skip writing out a solid story first before jumping into game building and then they just kind make up the story as they go rather than having a well thought out “screen play” first before even touching the development side of things. Even just story boarding a rough outline would be a game changer in having a solid plan to follow.
The “police officer” was also a SCP! SCP-937 I believe. He stops people on the stretch of road that go too fast and he kills them basically. The “run [name]!” over the radio is part of what happens when he shows up.
Hey swol, idk if you take game recommendations, but if you haven’t played “in sound mind” you should check it out. Really great game with a shit ton of puzzles. Love the content🤙
Yeah, it was a pretty high-quality game. I just wish there was a little bit more of a horror atmosphere and a little less dialogue but other than that, I did enjoy it.
@@SWOLPLAYS The game wasn't as much of a horror game as one usually expects but it was pretty awesome still. Just wish cringe and corny dialogue and moments (like talking to Frank or bathtub piss trauma dump) were cut out of the game or changed. The moment with the deer was so creepy up until they both casually spoke -_-
This game could have been so good but the constant notes and long dialogue really made it hard to stay interested. Your gameplay is what makes this watchable. You gettting the car stuck twice had me rolling 😂
I didn’t always post my streams to RUclips so there are a lot of games that I just streamed and never uploaded. @@pooryakh987 it just kills the momentum. I think the best example was that moment where we had to urgently leave the facility and we had people waiting on us, yet we got stuck in a 10 minute long conversation with a bathtub. It really sucked the life out of the immersion and pacing of the game.

it's always awesome when Swol uploads a new video while you're watching an old one! thank you, Swol!

Yea, I can’t remember where in the game that was. I tried looking up the sound track but nothing sounded like what I was looking for
I hate notes in normal horror games too, they are just so unnecessary. But SCP stuff really is worth reading and gives so much more to the experience!
As I was playing my twitch chat was filling me in on a lot of SCP lore. Definitely some interesting stuff I’d love to look more into
