- Lebanese TikTok chef Abir El Saghir has gained millions of followers on social media for her short videos of recipes from around the world that she prepares with matching outfits and accessories
From a small town in Lebanon's west Bekaa, chef Abir El Saghir has reached millions around the world, with TikTok videos showing her cooking traditional dishes while dressed up with the corresponding country outfit.
"I know I am not giving recipes, but I am giving vibes,” El Saghir said.
Passionate about fashion and cooking, the 23-year-old combines both in her short videos. She makes a living from a clothes shop she runs in West Bekaa but enjoys being in the kitchen the most.
"I love cooking, I love preparing things and being in the kitchen. Filming was (meant) to share this love with people watching," El Saghir said from her house's kitchen in Jeb Jennin where she was preparing Lebanese traditional dishes.
El Saghir handles it all by herself. She goes shopping for the ingredients, cooks, films, edits and posts her videos.
"Yes, it is hard... but there is happiness. I am happy with what I am doing - so it feels like tiredness goes away," she added.
El Saghir's videos has millions of views on social media. One of them, she said, has 178 million, "more than half of the population of (the United States of) America."
The young social media sensation started her TikTok account in early 2021, first posting fashion content before turning to food. She has now posted videos for traditional dishes from more than 90 countries and gained more than 12 million followers.
"I used to coordinate clothes, now I coordinate food," El Saghir said, before going to complete and meticulously style her dishes.

The fact that most people would believe she has a full television-level studio staff and that her videos are edited by experienced movie industry experts…. and it’s ALL JUST HER, I mean wow, you can’t help but be blown away by this young lady. Owns a clothing store, has this EXTREME level of knowledge for:
cooking, baking, geography, history, historical fashion, modern fashion, film techniques, advanced editing, marketing language, lighting, and philanthropy.
Again, she is mind blowing for anyone, let alone a 23 year old! And a 23 year old from a country that doesn’t have the financial and technological advantages of “western” type countries. This young woman is to be admired for ALL she does, the hours of work she must put in everyday to achieve the level she’s at is unthinkable. If you’re not able to comprehend…. take your phone and go film four 30-second segments of anything you want. So your dog, cat, traffic out your window, wildlife outside, flowers… whatever. Get 4 separate 30 second pieces, and now edit all four of those into ONE 30 second video. Just try this minimal task and you’ll quickly see, that’s a 4-8 hour job your just did; editing video is very hard and takes extremely long amounts of time.
From the time this video was uploaded (9 months ago at this writing), she has gone from 7.5 million followers to 22 million today, and that’s just TikTok. That’s without any “viral” moments, no fights, bad language, NOTHING even remotely provocative, in fact the only skin this lady shows to garner this attention are her hands and face, period. No “bikini shots”, no “Lululemon skin tight” shots, no ratchet Karen moments, no one getting hurt, punked, pranked or humiliated. My point…. you CAN be admired, followed, validated; earn money AND respect, while remaining kind, classy, composed and compassionate. This woman is a role model very much NEEDED in 2023 and beyond. Absolute respect Abir! 👍🏼😃☮️☮️

I truly appreciate that she always, always wears her modest, Islamic clothing under whatever country's national dress she is wearing. Alhamdulillah. And, the food always appears to be so delectable.
