  • This video is stop number two on my THSBA schedule for 2023-2024. Originally, I was suppose to fish at Lake Ray Hubbard, but due to very low lake levels the tournament was moved (at the last minute) to Richland Chambers Reservoir. I had great practice fishing for Lake Ray Hubbard and those videos will be showcased here on this channel soon. I had only one day to practice on Richland Chambers before the tournament. I caught a limit and felt really confident to catch good fish on tournament day, I had a lot of fun and our team did very well as a group fishing this tournament. A few other Kemp fishing team boats caught good fish this day. I hope you enjoy this video. It shows more of the conversations my dad and I have on the boat throughout the day of fishing. I will put up my one practice day video for this tournament soon. Practice and tournament days were completely opposite and that may have contributed to my struggles on tournament day. I really enjoyed being out on the water and spending time with my dad. It was a great day. Drop me a comment. I enjoy hearing from everyone. Please consider checking out one of our sponsors for the Kemp fishing team. It is the bait boys. Peyton makes great soft plastic baits that I have used to catch quality bass. Excellent work out there! I love it when people catch fish where someone has been sitting and catching nothing😂

Nice job. Questions? How do you pick a spot in a tourney like this? Can you scope it out beforehand to see what areas might provide cover, etc?? How long is the day of fishing?
I checked out some of the standings and you're doing well. Keep that mojo mojoing.

Hey Mr Smet! There are times called "off limits" where anglers are not allowed to be on the lake it's usually the day before in some form. The tournaments are 8 hours of fishing. I use all the allotted time! We are free to fish as much as we want before the tourney and plot strategy. I fish standing timber, rocks and docks almost exclusively. I get on my electronics and scan structures then hit the juicy spots. I'm a shallow fisherman for the most part. Shallow to me is 10ft or less water. Main lake access to structure is a must most times of the year. I look for those areas then pound them on tournament days. Sometimes you just come across them and that's good but when you drop 200 boats plus Saturday locals on a lake it gets small and the fish get skittish. There is no replacement to time spent on the water. Gotta fish the lakes as much as possible. Fish on!
