    The Q Wave
A Q wave is any negative deflection that precedes an R wave
The Q wave represents the normal left-to-right depolarisation of the interventricular septum
Small ‘septal’ Q waves are typically seen in the left-sided leads (I, aVL, V5 and V6)
    Q waves in different leads
    -------------------------------------------
Small Q waves are normal in most leads
Deeper Q waves (Greater than 2 mm) may be seen in leads III and aVR as a normal variant
Under normal circumstances, Q waves are not seen in the right-sided leads (V1-3)
    Pathological Q Waves
    -----------------------------------
Q waves are considered pathological if:
Greater than 40 ms (1 mm) wide
    Greater than 2 mm deep
Greater than 25% of depth of QRS complex
    Seen in leads V1-3
Pathological Q waves usually indicate current or prior myocardial infarction.
    Loss of normal Q waves
    ----------------------------------------
The absence of small septal Q waves in leads V5-6 should be considered abnormal.
Absent Q waves in V5-6 is most commonly due to LBBB.

    ECG Made ridiculously simple
During this course, we will bring you through the journey to understand the basic of electrocardiogram (ECG), and the heart function in order to recognize arrhythmias and diagnose common medical conditions from the ECG.
Don’t waste your energy on complicated textbooks and papers full of theory. Don’t spend your valuable time and money on expensive on-site courses. Instead, learn the most important clinical skills in ECG where you want and when you want through Master ECG Program.
The course will provide the students a thorough understanding of the components of the ECG waveform, recognition and interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and diagnosing all the abnormal conditions using ECG patterns.
Analyze Don't Memorize with step-by-step, self-paced ECG course.
The course is designed to be taken at your convenience as a home-study/self-study course, you can stop and start on your schedule, and an online bookmark can bring you back to where you left off.
The best platform for the simplest and detailed way to learn ECG interpretation.
Case-based teaching in ECG creates a hands-on, engaging learning experience to improve your diagnostic skills. Only learn what’s clinically relevant and safely ignore the rest.
ECG interpretation is no more nightmare, and our renowned faculty is here to teach you their tips and tricks to master the ECG.
Through our dedicated ECG program, you’ll soon be able to make better clinical decisions much faster. Your patients and colleagues will love and respect you for it!
15 plus hours of video lectures
Course is targeted for Medical students preparing for USMLE, FMGE, NEET PG, Third and Fourth year MBBS and also for general physicians, Juniors doctors and allied health professionals, paramedics, ECG Technicians and Anybody working in the medical field and wants to learn ECG interpretation.

    RESPECTED DOCTOR,
I have taken ECG today 12-05-2023. In report it is mentioned as 1. normal PR and QT interval. 2. QS inferior Leads. 3. No acute ST changes
What does this mean. Kindly explain.

is T wave inversion normal in v1?

  • @leonardovictor3845

Anyone tell me, the real reason why q wave is abscent in v1, v2..

    • @emireshabani1856
      @emireshabani1856 5 месяцев назад +1

I think the depolarization of the intact septal wall does not allow it to penetrate with sufficient intensity for the q wave to appear towards v1 v2 leads.
