When will this nonsense stop with this organization? It’s time to sever ties with NAR. I would love to keep local & state association memberships and drop national.
This is truly sad. Those who publish the code of ethics that agents are to follow apparently don't feel the need to follow good business ethics. Is it surprising? No, NAR is following the pathetic behavior of many politicians. NAR should reimburse all agent dues going back to 2015! Time for us agents to move on from NAR!
And could we get started discussing how our association sells all of our listings to Zillow, redfin, Trulia, and others? And then makes us PAY for those leads too?? Thousands of dollars a month.
...and on top of all of this mis-use of our dues, NAR spends tens of millions of dollars on stupid advertising that does nothing to promote us. I'd give them one year to change their ways and if they can't, I'd recommend stop paying NAR dues.
This is definitely reaching the limits of miss use of member funds. However, I think that this issue is over shadowing The real issue at hand which is The incompetence and lack of representation of the needs of the real estate industry and its members by NAR leadership. It truly seems and feels as if the leadership of NAR is not in tune with the day-to-day operations of its members and with what’s going on in the industry to represent as they should.
It is nutty. There is a cost to doing business, but this should all be approved and passed by the board when reviewing the budget. NAR needs to clean up the lavish expenses and use the funds to better support its members and partners. Thanks for covering this topic.
The agents I know who volunteer on our local and state boards work their tails off (I've never volunteered because I would rather play in my free time so kudos to them) and they absolutely deserve some kind of nice treatment, but this sounds excessive. I'm even more floored to learn NAR is a non-profit. But I suppose churches and a lot of other entities and billionaires don't pay taxes either. What a mess.
@@TristanAhumada - I have volunteered for 14 years at both the local and state level to help my fellow Realtors and we all worked very hard with no pay. - an occasional free drink or lunch was it. The year I was President at the local board my sales took a big hit. I'm not defending what's going on, but I am good friends with several people who serve in leadership roles for NAR and it has always amazed me that they could still have a career with all the time spent working for NAR. I'm so sad to see the mess this has all become!
THIS IS COMPLETELY DISGUSTING!!! They are WASTING our dues!!!!!!!!
Pretty nutty
It looks like it.

@@therodneyrosemortgageteam7021 you’re so right about this. Really good point.
That type of spending is not what member fees should be used for. There needs to be better accountability 😡
Exactly

This is completely over the top & people should be fired!
@@MichaelCirone-r8c it is very crazy, right?
We need to clean house at NAR.
Also, why the hell do we need TWO HQ buildings?
We are getting hosed.
@@drums98stuff yes I agree
Class action will come for sure!
That would be interesting.
And we pay for classes and designation, additionally... not included with our $1,000+ dues per year
Exactly.
