I had 2 bosses, in 1981. One would call me at 7:05am and tell me to go north. The other would call me at 7:15am and tell me to go south. What was I to do? One outranked the other, but I spoke to the lower ranked boss first. This was before cell phones. The company was a utility sub+contractor.. their clients didn't care about interoffice discord. You won't be surprised that the company I worked for doesn't exist anymore.
