Learn how to craft your own modern theme in this Power Apps tutorial. We recently gained the functionality to add on to the out-of-the-box themes with our own custom themes in canvas apps. Check out this video to see what these new modern themes they look like, learn what the "gotcha's" see how to setup and configure them in a variety of scenarios.

Thanks April 👍🏼 Would be good if the PowerApp features took this a further step to accommodate a full branding colour palette, not just varying shades of one colour. Keep up the good content. Great work.

100% agree. I'm sure this is the first baby step in the right direction toward that. At least I hope 🙂

Thanks for sharing as always. A good start but we want to be able to add, at the very least a secondary colour so we can dynamically apply both or even create a gradient etc. Hopefully, that is on the way. 😆

Agreed. I'm glad we've taken a step in the right direction but we need more than one colors for this to be complete

The color you select when creating the theme is not the primary color. It's very frustrating when you want the controls to be of specific color.

I have created a theme using solid red as the color RGB(255,0,0). But when I add a modern button control to the screen it appears as a different shade of red RGB(199,0,0) than I defined in the theme. How can I get the button color to match what I've based my theme upon?

The primary color is not the color you selected when creating theme. It's very frustrating. You wont be able to use modern control if your company has a certain theme color

It's a nice start, but for me feels like a swing and a miss on nailing down what I've wanting for theming all these years. I'd love to see more of an approach to creating more of a brand profile, like many of the custom ways we do it now. It feels close, hopefully its on its way.

Yeah I totally agree. It seems like a baby step in the right direction but like I said in the video, in most cases we want to match our brand standards which have multiple colors and we need a way to handle that. I'm hoping they're doing a "crawl, walk, run" approach and that there will be iterations of this soon.

Our company has a gradient theme which makes theming anything interesting.

Good old gradients making things difficult for us for years now. I am working on another video that addresses options for gradients in Power Apps
