Repair costs are not a way of balancing a vehicle, they dont make the vehicle any worse in battle, all they do it make it more frustrating to play that vehicle
"Balance" is just Gaijin's bullshit excuse. Like you said, it's meant to just frustrate the experience. Players then get desperate enough to pay out for premium time, SL, etc.
It's so fuckin annoying, these things are the only hard counter to the armour on the 72s and 80Us yet you see so few of them. This thing now has a 50% win rate yet still has twice the repair cost of the T72B3 which has a 70%+ win rate
Gaijin uses repair costs to balance vehicles... And it is awful- it means the vehicle is shit to play against because it is still as good in battle, but it makes it also shit to play because it is expensive. It's a lazy way out and it is annoying.
I really dislike it too. However at the moment until BR decompression which to be fair is never going to happen its the best we have, GB is the best example of this. 6.7 GB is really really strong and they have a huge edge over their competition at that tier. Having stabilisers, high pen sabot at 6.7 and fairly decent survivability is very strong. Id argue the reason their cost is so high is so GB isnt majorly popular and dominate the 6.7 meta. I recently grinded out GB and after spading the 6.7 lineup and grinding for the 7.7 lineup I realised how versatile and polarising that lineup can be in a game, with a squad of 4 friends we can take over a game very quickly even with our 300ms disadvantage because of how good the stabilisers are and how sabot can oneshot most tanks/cripple them for an immediate killshot on reload. The only reason GB doesnt dominate 6.7 is the repair cost so most teams are US, GB and Japan vs everyone else but mainly Germany and Russia. generally the GB players make up 20% or less of a the team making them not overbearing to deal with. I really wish Gaijin came up with a better solution but for now this is all we have.

I don’t think balancing by repair costs is good, but it’s necessary. Especially when you consider the fact that there are over thousands of vehicles in this game. Though I understand your point of view, I still wouldn't say it's 100% necessary. As a french play with repair costs to the moon, I hate going up against the leo 2A5’s and strv 122’s, but when they added the T-72B3 and all that spam, I hate the russians more. I used to just one tap them but I bounce way more against them that I do a leo. I feel they need to add a equivalent vehicles to all nations, not just the major ones like i waited forever for the leclerc and its good but it is being overshadowed. I feel bad for all the freebrams I kill, I have a friend who plays the US and they do suffer.
For only having 1 or 2 Top MBT's in the techtree, it's kinda silly how they make those few tanks so damn expensive.. If you look at the Russian lineup with so many potent MBT's that costs pocketmoney to rep. It should be the other way around here, you could with no problem fit 5 RU MBT's in a single rep cost of a 122. Being killed right after spawn by a heli that you cant do much against doesnt really justify the rep cost either.
I'm just curious i see you have a full lineup do you use it or are you a one and done kind of player? Because for me WT is a game of lineups and personally i rarely loose SL even when not running prem acc while playing quite a bit of top tier.
Repair costs shouldn't be used as a balancing mechanic as it rules out vehicles for some players. You can play an overtiered vehicle BRwise, but if repair costs+ammo costs drive you to bankrupcy, you literally cannot play the vehicle.
Is that a mod where you range find and the gun auto corrects and if so that mod should be auto on the m1a2 cuz real life m1a2 actually has that where it auto corrects the range
I will say that while I do like to be able to use sound for close quarters combat, hearing the Type 16 at that kinda range is a bit silly. Id almost recommend that gaijin remove the ability to lower your own engine volume and other players engine volumes. It seems like a really cheesy mechanic and I use it frequently.
Dear people. I know you dont have so much silver to repair your tanks but this strv122 deserved high repair cost because it op af, you cant pen the turret, you cant pen the hull ez like leo2a5, and now gaijin even decrease its repair cost pretty much. Idk what you are trying to complaint anymore
I agree with the repair cost but the reward for higher br vehicles should be greater, not the same as lower br. Your tank cost millions, the tank you destroy cost millions, crew cost more than half million. You kill one should give you atleast 25k, 50k for losing a matching and winning should give you over 100k minimum
"Your tank cost millions" it costs 1 million on initial purchase, "crew cost more than half a million" it costs 0.3 million, "You kill one should give you atleast 25k, 50k for losing a matching and winning should give you over 100k minimum" 25k = I'm planning on killing more than 50 players, 50k = I'm probably gonna lose more than 25 times, 100k = I'm probably gonna win more than 13 times. I'm probably gonna win more than 13 times, lose more than 25 times, and get more than 50 kills. You don't seem to realize how much money you'd make if this were actually in the game. I would only have to play maximum 25 games, without any kills, and then I would've payed off an entire top-tier tank. How do you not see how ridiculous this would be???
The upkeep costs across the board are ridiculous. My single biggest complaint about Gaijin is how they punish their players for playing. It hurts retention, it discourages transactions, because who wants to give money to a game they don't enjoy designed to make them mad? They and wargaming both need to put the spread sheets down and actually play the game like normal people. It would give them much more insight to how the game actually works. Warthunder also needs to era lock imo. WW2 tanks, cold war, modern day, should never overlap or meet in a match.
While I dont like Gaijin balancing things with repair costs, the fact that the Strv.122 is even in the game is completely bullshit. Should never have been added and was OP before volumetric shells, and it got 2 HUGE passive buffs with stock shell changes and volumetric rounds and armor.
@@PitBull_-yx1ir Because its the best MBT in the game, and has been for 2 patches. Its BS. Sweden getting added in the first place was stupid, but this thing is just exceedingly stupid.

Awww cry me a river. One good tank dont make jack difference look at france. Its all about lineup. Id rather have 3 good tanks rather than 1 super tank.

Dont worry about the strv 122 being OP next patch we Will most likely get more Power creep, Just like happend with the Leo 2a5, + not alot of people play sweden.
I think crew stats should be used to balance more OP vehicles. For example, if something is really good like the STRV122 or T-72B3, it can have worse drive handling or worse repair times and crew exchange times to balance them out. This is already a thing for many tanks. The M60 AMBT for example has insanely long repair times even though its a balanced vehicle at its BR. Something like that could be done for STRV122 or T-72B3 as it performs better than most other tanks at its BR.
I've never agreed with high repair costs. For F2P players it completely halts their grind. It punishes people for trying new things. It encourages people to stop playing the game and do something else, (especially those who desire to play the modern vehicles) because in the end, that 2a5, or 122, or what have you, really turns into an exponential amount of time to grind. It encourages an extremely careful and campy playstyle. It encourages people to get kills at any cost, so kill steal for days, be cheap, have little mercy. It encourages people to completely avoid objectives, and rewards those who know how to abuse them. It stops people from enjoying the vehicle and the game as a whole. We wonder why people have so much more fun on the dev servers... maybe its because we don't have the economy to worry about there.
No repair costs used to balance a vehicle is actually counter productive rather than work to make it fit in .All having massive repair costs on a vehicle does is take away the players enjoyment of that vehicle .And happy players spend money enjoy the game and play it .Unhappy players sit in chat complaining about EVERYTHING lol

Price is always performance
For only having 1 or 2 Top MBT's in the techtree, it's kinda silly how they make those few tanks so damn expensive.. If you look at the Russian lineup with so many potent MBT's that costs pocketmoney to rep. It should be the other way around here, you could with no problem fit 5 RU MBT's in a single rep cost of a 122. Being killed right after spawn by a heli that you cant do much against doesnt really justify the rep cost either.
Expensive rep cost, laughs in ta152
The heat fs grind in my B3 was the worst Stuck Grund I had in 5 Years wt
Try it in m1a1 against the b3😂😂
the repair cost should be balanced with the game you had before
I'm just curious i see you have a full lineup do you use it or are you a one and done kind of player? Because for me WT is a game of lineups and personally i rarely loose SL even when not running prem acc while playing quite a bit of top tier.
Repair costs shouldn't be used as a balancing mechanic as it rules out vehicles for some players. You can play an overtiered vehicle BRwise, but if repair costs+ammo costs drive you to bankrupcy, you literally cannot play the vehicle.
swedish meatball pressure cooker, the barrel is simply made to release pressure
How can you get auto adjust when using laser rangerfinder like that ?? I thought it only work in sb mode
I guess the range as I begin to use LRF, basing it off experience mostly.
Can you tell me what graphic settings are you using? I can't find my own and yours look perfect.
Max everything but SSR.
@@JustinPlaysTV thank you, i tought max looks weird, but i changed my mind
That is one nice looking mbt.
love the camo justin :)
Is that a mod where you range find and the gun auto corrects and if so that mod should be auto on the m1a2 cuz real life m1a2 actually has that where it auto corrects the range
it kinda makes sense why the repair costs would be so high, its an expensive modern vehicle, but whatevs.
Its compared to other vehicles...
now using the british 6.7 lineup that lacks CAS and AA is around 50k SL to repair, even if you die to planes
Ghost shells?
QC at Gaijin never saw one hit so You must be mistaken.
What do you think what will come in the next update
This is by far the best top-tier tank in the game. I slaughter in this. Don’t @me
When im researching swedish tonks. i only gain RP.
Cant gain SL xD
Shoud i buy the strv 103 o so i can easaly farm for the strv 122?
Ey justin, what skin is that? It looks sick
Hey what’s up Justin love the videos keep it up
While I dont like Gaijin balancing things with repair costs, the fact that the Strv.122 is even in the game is completely bullshit. Should never have been added and was OP before volumetric shells, and it got 2 HUGE passive buffs with stock shell changes and volumetric rounds and armor.
Why are you mad that it was added that’s is literally Sweden’s only top tier mbt they just buy leopards from Germany and slightly upgrade it.
@@PitBull_-yx1ir Because its the best MBT in the game, and has been for 2 patches. Its BS. Sweden getting added in the first place was stupid, but this thing is just exceedingly stupid.
@@henryatkinson1479 salty salty
@@riccardomariani9648 T-72B3 has 180 degree ERA coverage (the rest is spaced slat armor). Also the 122 has better HEAT protection anyways, and the armor can be used more than once unlike ERA. Plus the 122 has CITV.
Awww cry me a river. One good tank dont make jack difference look at france. Its all about lineup. Id rather have 3 good tanks rather than 1 super tank.
I would’ve said that I don’t usually care about repair costs but I got a bunch of aircraft and now I’m broke again
Love the title
Dude, your first 3 kills was the same guy.
Since when did you start advertising bullying.
Because of the ridiculous performance of this thing, you earn so much if you do well, so repair cost is not as big of an issue. The real issue is not having other 10.7 MBTs to bring out with it, and also it really sucks to play against.
Im fine with tank vs tank. But when you get killed by a chopper or jet, it sucks. Cos you cant do anything about it. Even still then its armor dont mean anything. Everybody goes for the gun and most maps are rat maze like small
Cheeeeese, Gromit.
*Petition to nerf Justinplays*
Wait, so this doesn't have to deal with heatfs stock and the 2a5 does? :(
Probably because it never used heat-fs shells irl. So gaijin can't add one as a stock round. Same with the brits.
N O II C E ! ! 👍👍
Im laughing my ass off cause this thing has less repair cost than Strv 81
Meanwhile the chally 2 has an 8k repair cost spaded... I guess people just play it agressively.
17k? Thats cheap. Caernavorn is 20k at 6.7 :D
played this game 6months ago, kinda hated leo 2a5 becouse of repair, but hey it had free shit apfsds... now returned and it has heatfs that wont even pen the sides of any mbt... let alone russian hordes..
And yes russians finally got same tratment in fucked up greed treatment of stock heatfs (but its better than other nation rounds.. so thats that)
One match later with same garbage map uninstalled again and its on hold for another 6 months+
I still haven't forgotten nor forgiven gaijin for adding this thing.
It's hull armor is still overperforming.
underperforming*
@@einar8019 no, overperforming. It is not 750mm, as that is about the hull armor of the newest 2a7V.
Given that the hull armor is identical to the 2a5 (410mm), and the 100mm composite block is at a 55° angle (which gives us 122mm equivalent) the hull should be around 530mm thick.
@@jacobbaumgardner3406 the internal armour is different than the 2a5, and the estimate of the armour is 620-780mm against ke on the ufp
@@einar8019 not on the model introduced in the 90's. Maybe in STRV variants in the 2010's, but not tye OG era. Not even tye 2a6 had internal hull upgrades like that. The composite block was the upgrade.
Even the Americans haven't been able to make a hull that strong until the newest M1A2C, and that thing is 66 tonnes.
@@jacobbaumgardner3406 well the 2a5 hull armour is about 600 an then with the extra armours its about 700. personaly i think they shoulve only adde the strv121 and given it slpprj 95(witch is underperforming since its missing more than 1kg of projectilemass)
SL repair cost are in my opinion hurtfull to the game. It promotes single spawns, it promotes camping and it just makes the game soso frustrasting.
If all nations where on par with say Russia top tier, then i would be okay with it, but playing top tier Sweden or Germany is just painfull.
My Russian lineup tough, is never really a problem SL wise
When Leo2A6 and 7 will come?
LOL
I no longer get poor just because I look at my 122
That first abrams kill shouldn't have been a knock out. Why on earth didn't the blow out panels work!?
Because blowout panels doesnt 100 percent effective at all times.
For example if shell manage to penetrate entire blowout panel design you most likely cannot survive from that shot.
Spaa i think Gaijin just secrecy change it. I never got this problem before the update
Bao Nguyen
Tbh İ killed abrams with my leo2a5 like that countless times buddy, shell just penetrate the storage and there goes boom basically.
Although in this video Justin manage to destroy that abrams from basically a side storage shot, yet again it can be happen time to time thx to rng İ assume.
Spaa weird. I’m not saying you are wrong. It’s just I never die from ammo racked in an Abrams before
Bao Nguyen
Most likely 9/10 times blowout panel will save your life just like in our leo’s.
But sometimes even blowout out panel cant be enough.
this tank should have never been aded till the 2a6 was already in game they screwed sweeden over by giving them newer tanks and repair cost and populatiry
Play the m1 abrams again!
Play the lorraine 40t and se what suffering feels like
yea it is a leopard 2a7 but with less powerful round
No dude..Strv 122 is a 2A5 with add on armour.. the 2A7 is basically a new tank, new gun l55. New undercarriage. New engine. Targeting systems/ optics. And the list goes on and on..
Ohh, yea mate I've heard about it but im talking about the armour, 122 and the 2a7 has a similar layout of add on's armour (i don't know which is better or what)
@@mendozaaldwinl.9502 Yeah... you do know that the germans actually copied the swedes at that...?
@@dennissrensen5748 And btw its a 2a4 that got upgraded. Just a small correction :D
what is the way to complaint about repair cost bcoz this game is big and in the same time to get to the top rank the average skilled player should wast 2 or 3 week or a month to achieve a 1 of top ranked tank from rank 6 tank with out premium account.upon that this gaijin game maker discorage players by big repair costs.
Dont worry about the strv 122 being OP next patch we Will most likely get more Power creep, Just like happend with the Leo 2a5, + not alot of people play sweden.
This thing is actually noticeably slower than the 2a5 with all that extra weight
No repair costs used to balance a vehicle is actually counter productive rather than work to make it fit in .All having massive repair costs on a vehicle does is take away the players enjoyment of that vehicle .And happy players spend money enjoy the game and play it .Unhappy players sit in chat complaining about EVERYTHING lol
really want to get leo2a.., no, strv122
2:46 how does tracks eat up a fucking dart but not the ENTIRE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION assembly,
Tracks need a hella nerf
Welp the T72B3 has almost better Amor and costs 14k less.... Nice gajin
they have same armour, breach and lower plateis where you can kill them, difference is that the 122 actualy has some survivabilaty
Yeah Justin 34 mil SL and a bunch of GE. Are you whaling the game. LUL jk
gaijob still doing russian repair bias
This thing should be 11.0. Same with the 2A5, they're just far and away better than the T-80U and the M1A2
Yesterday I was in match with u and sakosniper and you both left in the first death notcool bro :(
My account balance currently at 233k SL: 👁️👄👁️ (plus I have the T-72B3 unlocked but can't buy it 😭)
Your quite mean Justin. You Killed two different people three times in a row in two games.
day 3 of asking to play the centurion mk 5 avre
Leotrash1a1 has around 8k repair cost when fully upgraded and its at 8.7 which it performs like an absolute dogshit at 8.7
