If you look closely at her throat while she is singing the muscles are engaged. I for one think this is a live performance and again, it is simply excellent breath control. One more thing, she is singing mainly in a very light mix/head voice, falsetto, so she doesn't really have the need to exert herself to really support those higher notes as you would see when a singer is belting.
