Mexico City was founded the 13th March 1325, by the Aztecs( Mexica). Hernan Cortes conquered Tenochtitlan and slaughtered basically all of the Aztecs, those which he didn’t kill by the sword died of smallpox which they introduced. Then the Spanish built Mexico City over the remains of what they destroyed. The Zócalo which you show with the Metropolitan cathedral is built over the ruins of the Aztecs main temple district. That is why you see their ancestors practicing their native traditions to this day on the side of the Cathedral.
Impressive. Not many Mexicans (let alone foreigners) seem to know much of Mexico City's earliest recorded history. Hopefully you can witness some preparations soon for the 700th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the "New World's" oldest city, coming up in only 4 years! (Are you English? Israeli? Balkan/Slavic? Italian? From your name, it's difficult to guess your origin.)
It was a recommendation from RUclips, and let me tell u a great video and a really good knowledge from México. By the way I am from México City . Thanks for this video
Looks like you had a nice time and I loved seeing all the jacarandas ("ha-ka-ron-das") in bloom! The park near Bellas Artes is the Alameda and the tall building (tallest in Mexico City, I believe) is the Torre Latinoamericana. You can also go up to a observation deck, I believe on the 43rd floor. Safe travels!
nice walk. almost all other walks go the other way, from bellas artes to the zocalo. this was a nice twist. the leaning is from the 'lake' that the centro historico was built on...obviously the lake was drained but the soil is still porous...this is only the case in the centro historico though. the house of tiles began construction over 400 years ago too (and was completed like 250 years ago)! idk if you mentioned that lol.

@CO You mean like EVERY religion, including Christianity?
This is the first video I have watched on your channel. Really enjoyed it and well done! Thank you.
CDMX looks a cool city, no homelessness, drug addicts, trash, needless everywhere. A healthy, safe and livable city. What an irony!
Thank you for showing Mexico, I want to go when I have an opportunity. 😊💙
Nice tour my wifes brother works there, now i can picture it.
I flew into there once. While looking down on landing, I was impressed by all old stone buildings.

La torre latinoamericana was for years the tallest tower in CDMX but now there are many more.

I heard that it's behind Lima, Peru as well.
Behind in what way exactly? Lima Peru metro is 10.8 million while Mexico City is 21.9 million. That’s twice the population 😂
La CASA BLANCA de los MEXICANOS 😊😊😊
Sin miedo a las salsas mexicanas .. 😎😎😎

In Mexico, the mask is not mandatory, it's optional, the pressure, is only peer pressure.
Did you hit up Taco Bell? I love their hot sauce!
Taco bell isn't true mexican food 'cause our meals are totally natural ingredients.
Only in Mexico you can to eat true Mexican's food flavor.
In fact in Mexico there not Taco Bell
That's what up
They’re scared to travel here because of the media lol
next time use a spoon to put salsa on your tacos.
