Fountain pen nerd here... Kaweco has convertors you can use as well... Once you go down the fountain pen rabbit hole there is no going back. There are so many different inks, colors, consistencies etc. Each nib, paper, and ink combination performs differently, etc. I have several Kawecos and love them. Lamy's are great, the Pilot Kakunos aren't bad. Good luck, just look up convertors and how to fill them. Also please, pretty please, research how to properly clean a fountain pen. :) Goulet pens is also a great resource
I'm not big on drawing or painting either, but using stickers and washi tape and stuff to create collages or journal pages is just as valid an artistic endeavor and would be a great thing to use the sketchbook for! Just have fun with it!!
Hey bunny!! Fountain pens are my special interest, so I HOARD information on them. I have a lot of answers to a lot of your questions - two big suggestions being:
- Use q tips to swatch the ink. Shake the bottle before use to distribute the shimmer, then q tip some ink to swatch on the page!
- You may like a glass dip pen. You can dip it into the ink bottle for a quick writing experience. One thing to note though is that dip pens will always dump more ink than a fountain pen, so itll be a juicier writing experience.
You can also empty out the cartridge you got with the Pilot Kakuno. If uou buy an ink syringe (blunt tip), you can suck out the ink, flush it with water, then use the clean syringe to put fuchsia ink into the cleaned out cartridge
You were close, Bunny! A4 is the 8.5X11 equivalent. I’ve made that mistake before so many times, haha.
The size you're looking for is A4. It's not EXACTLY 8.5x11, but it's the closest. I lived in Japan for a while, and I always had to remember to convert my documents before printing if it was something I had started working on in the US.
I neeeeed a sticker book like that, when I was in primary school I used to collect stickers, a bunch of us did, and used to trade stickers (until all trading got banned because it was causing fights and complaints), so sticker collection books bring me right back to how much I loved my stickers. I love the idea of trying to do the stickers by themes in sections or brands or colours (like rainbow order!).
You absolutely should do those scrapbook journal pages!! They're so fun to watch!!
You should really try a „Lamy“ pen 🖊 here in Germany it’s the pen most kids start learning to write and through to Highschool it’s one of the favorites. You can get it in so many different fun colors and they also have versions for lefties. The ink is usually in blue, but they also have black and purple and probably some other ones 😀 💜Katy

I am an old, old artist that works in mixed media and collage but when I need a fun goof off activity, I drag out my bags of washi tapes and stickers and cover pages in my sketchbook. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! Yes you can!

Fountain pens are addictive! Jet Pens have some good videos about fountain pen cleaning and maintenance which I would recommend. They do require some special treatment.

Hey bunny you just have to buy a pilot converter to use the Kakuno with bottled ink. Either one called a Con-70 or Con-40 should work :)

Great haul Bunny! I LOVE Jett Pens too!! I am addicted to stationary too, mostly pens, markers & pencils. I always go down the stationary isle in any store I am in. I have to see if there is anything new, that I can’t live without. Love the fountain pens you bought. I love writing with them. I have a couple, one came with different color ink cartridges.

A4 size is 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 in. That's as close as I could find. I've used A5and B5 for Bullet Journaling and they work out great for that! I love these videos! But what happened to your favorite Camouflage designs?

Hi, Bunny! The paper size you're looking for is called 'letter'. If they don't carry that size, you can go for an A4, it's similar but a bit narrower and longer

If you have a hole punch for wire bound or Happy Planner journals or something, hole punch the sticker sheets your stickers came on and stick them in your notebook. This way you have easily accessible stickers and reusable sticker sheets!
I noticed that sometimes sticker book "sticker" paper isn't very good and paper stickers will get permanently stuck to them and tear when you try to take them off. 😭

Look at goulet pens they have inserts for your pens to be able to fill you pens pluuuus a bunch of beautiful inks
There are fountain pens by Moonman where you fill the whole barrel and it's amazing for shimmering inks. But for your Pilot you need a converter. I'm surprised that this pen didn't come with one, as most cartridge fountain pens do.

Great video. Was a previous subscriber and re-subscribed. I didn’t know you were a fellow stationary lover like me. If you’re looking for letter size, your best bet is b5 which is better known as companion size. Or, A4 which is legal size. A5 which is my favorite size is just about half of a letter size when folded in half. Hope that helps. I love my Kaweco iridescent medium nib. If you want thick lines and show the sheen or shimmer of an ink, step up to the stub nib which is like a bold. 1.1mm is the size of the line. Typically extra fine nibs are 0.3, fine nibs are 0.5, medium is 0.9 and stub is 1.1mm. You can take that beautiful fuchsia Diamine ink and use an eye dropper it in the plastic tube of the Kaweco. But only the plastic Kaweco line. Research eye dropper filled Kaweco fountain pens. It’s so much fun and holds a lot of ink. Buy some disposable nitrile blue gloves. Very inexpensive and saves the fingers from being stained for several days. Though, what fun is it when you don’t get stained with ink or paint, right? 🙃❤️

8.5 x 11 is A4 ,A5 is half the size, (the smaller the number the bigger the paper size) hope this helps x
Bunny, you're a creative person. My brother-in-law had never painted before, and in 2017 he took a beginners painting class, and he loves it. It's most important that he enjoys himself, but as it turned out, he is quite good at it. I also have friend who is a professional artist, and she said that anyone can learn to draw, with proper instruction, and some practice. Maybe you could take a sketching class, followed by a watercolour painting class? Then you can use your paper!
If I'm not mistaken, some fountain pens have a little lever on the side, that will fill the pen. You put the fountain pen's nib into the ink, and then you gently and slowly move the lever, until the pen is full. My paternal grandfather, who fought in WW1, so a goodly number of years ago, had one on the desk in his study. I don't even know if they still make them this way anymore. In my teen years, I used a fountain pen with the ink cartridges. Many times I would have peacock blue phalanges after writing a letter to a friend, lol.

Oh I have the dark (sunset) version of that backpack. It drives me nuts bc I can't put as much as I need in it. Be careful w the leather straplet things. The paint rubbed off mine instantly and has really odd colorless patch areas on it. A5 is def not. A4 is. A5 is half that. A6 is half of a5. It's damn tiny but that backpack really isnt able to handle a4 well. It will ruin the corners.
