It was early Christmas morning when I was around 5 years old. I woke up, snooped around and looked in me and my sisters stockings and we both had a booster pack in them. She had a charizard pack and I had a blastoise pack. I wanted to get a charizard and though there was a better chance with the charizard pack so I switched them. I go back to bed and we wake up and open our gifts and she pulls a charizard from the blastoise pack. My worst moment of karma. For her birthday two years ago I bought her a charizard card for the memory. Thanks for reading y'all.

As someone who is currently an attorney, I do admire the path you’ve taken in life. I love my job, but I admit that I love Pokémon even more and would love to make my career based around it (I know it’s virtually impossible for me to do so and so it’s a pipe dream honestly). Uhmmm... i have NBA cards and have a Luka Doncic RC Prizm, Zion Williamson RC prizm, Ja Morant RC Prizm. Kinda sad cos I only collect this year. Its sad that I should've done that years ago when Lebron James RC is a giveaway and also MJ and Kobe Bryant. It feels so awesome when you look at beckett or ebay and saw your cards increasing its price month after month. Although I dont have a channel because I live and Asia and breaking box is impossible since reseller is selling it for a fortune, how I wish we can get boxes in Asia. No kidding, I started buying sealed booster boxes late last year and almost all of them have at least doubled in value since then. You also have to snap up some of the popular cards when you have chance, I bought a bunch of evolutions holo charizards around this time last year on ebay for $25 each, they're now selling for over $300 each and it's only going to go up and up over time. I wish to god I'd bought more.

Every five packs they’d give a promo charizard, so I bought a lot and have five of them. Each one is worth 40 bucks alone. But fr I’ve learned very quickly investing in Pokémon is actually a pretty quick turnaround

This is definitely everyone....I had so many first edition cards that I kept in the sleeves in binders. I grew up in a super religious household, (you know where this is going) well one day I left my cards out for a couple of minutes and my mom found them. Threw them all away immediately and grounded me cause I had “demonic” cards in the house. Honestly, I feel like religion gets in the way of so many things that can make the world a better place. So thanks mom, I could of been rich and you would of stopped smoking cause of struggling finances being taken care of.

I just listed my childhood collection on a facebook group and was bombarded with offers in the $5-10k range. I have been told it's probably worth at least $25k due to the number of first editions I have and how well I kept them.
why tho? All of this stuff is going to appreciate like crazy probably for another 3-6 months. He will probably be able to sell every single item in this collection for double it's current price if he just holds onto all of it for now
But thats why Leonhart is the man, because he DOESN'T sell. True collector and true to the game. Sure, sells pieces here and there but he isn't in it to get rich.
@@-Dynamite right now the market is a bubble waiting to burst, there's too many factors that make the investment volatile. From a pure investment perspective he should be looking to sell at least some things in the next 1-2 years to reduce the risk of a crash. Pokemon could become unpopular after 10-20 years, Nintendo could kill off the franchise and eventually people stop caring about it, even just Logan Paul deciding to cash out and leave Pokemon would cause the market to crash hugely.
More I watch the more I get upset that someone stole 15 books of holographic and 1st editions cards of pokemon and yu gi oh when I was 10 that me and my brother kept saving. I'm 24 now

Pink Runtz that’s not normal. We’re all human and we need balance. When your happy. It’s because your brain is releasing a chemical. Serotonin/dopamines. What goes up must come down. Your going to have to pay for that happiness with the opposite emotion. The universe and everything within it always balances itself. That’s why a lot of celebrities have depression. Because they’re brain is overstimulated, constantly releasing dopamine due to adoration from fans, creating/doing awesome work and getting praised for it. Live your life with balance. There will be time for happiness. Just remember, nothing is free, even your emotions. Everything has a cost.
Pink Runtz that’s also why depression among young people is a record high. Social media has a big part in it. They’re brains are constantly releasing dopamine from looking at amazing things. They also compare themselves to influencers and feel like their not worthy/important. When in reality, you don’t know how miserable some of them are on a personal level.
I hope it does, but not so much so that it hurts peoples investments too much. I do hope that it does though and it's kind of not cool to be showing such a collection like this and talking like the prices going up is such a good thing all around. Great for investors which is fine but some prices that I have seen are ridiculous. This has all turned from a fun hobby, and collection journey for people who were getting back into card collecting, to a value first, rich mans hobby only because that's pretty much all who can afford this now. A few people blow up the spot and everything goes up a ridiculous amount over night. You want two unweighted Base Set packs where the odds are not in your favor? $1,400+ please!... Seems like a bit of selfish and greedy milking and draining of the hobby.
Not with something like this. Where as more and more base set boxes are opened, the more rare the sealed boxes become. It’ll only ever increase in value, as it has been for over two decades now.
You've got a point, however, original Pokemon isn't just 'hype'. It's literally an art piece. It will never go down, only up. The things Leon just showed to us are so rare and valuable that they will only increase in value. They will never decrease. Pokemon is so popular and unique that the cards will literally never cap in value as time goes on. Even a card printed in 2010 will have an absurd amount of value in ~2080.
Great collection. FYI though, No Rarity cards are only recorded to have ever been in the starter decks not in the base set boxes. Starter Decks were printed before the boxes were released from what I've read, and were corrected when printing started for base set boxes.

I just listed my childhood collection on a facebook group and was bombarded with offers in the $5-10k range. I have been told it's probably worth at least $25k due to the number of first editions I have and how well I kept them.

@@-Dynamite right now the market is a bubble waiting to burst, there's too many factors that make the investment volatile. From a pure investment perspective he should be looking to sell at least some things in the next 1-2 years to reduce the risk of a crash. Pokemon could become unpopular after 10-20 years, Nintendo could kill off the franchise and eventually people stop caring about it, even just Logan Paul deciding to cash out and leave Pokemon would cause the market to crash hugely.

Yeah growing up before my dad passed and my mom told me the significance of collecting certain things that may become valuable. I gave my brother all my holos while he bought 1st editions And saved them growing up I was very poor growing up had to learn the values of life earliar than most

Pink Runtz that’s not normal. We’re all human and we need balance. When your happy. It’s because your brain is releasing a chemical. Serotonin/dopamines. What goes up must come down. Your going to have to pay for that happiness with the opposite emotion. The universe and everything within it always balances itself. That’s why a lot of celebrities have depression. Because they’re brain is overstimulated, constantly releasing dopamine due to adoration from fans, creating/doing awesome work and getting praised for it.
Live your life with balance. There will be time for happiness. Just remember, nothing is free, even your emotions. Everything has a cost.
Pink Runtz that’s also why depression among young people is a record high. Social media has a big part in it. They’re brains are constantly releasing dopamine from looking at amazing things. They also compare themselves to influencers and feel like their not worthy/important. When in reality, you don’t know how miserable some of them are on a personal level.

I hope it does, but not so much so that it hurts peoples investments too much. I do hope that it does though and it's kind of not cool to be showing such a collection like this and talking like the prices going up is such a good thing all around. Great for investors which is fine but some prices that I have seen are ridiculous. This has all turned from a fun hobby, and collection journey for people who were getting back into card collecting, to a value first, rich mans hobby only because that's pretty much all who can afford this now. A few people blow up the spot and everything goes up a ridiculous amount over night. You want two unweighted Base Set packs where the odds are not in your favor? $1,400+ please!... Seems like a bit of selfish and greedy milking and draining of the hobby.
Not with something like this. Where as more and more base set boxes are opened, the more rare the sealed boxes become. It’ll only ever increase in value, as it has been for over two decades now.
People been saying this for the past 6 years and are now kicking themselves for not investing.

You've got a point, however, original Pokemon isn't just 'hype'. It's literally an art piece. It will never go down, only up. The things Leon just showed to us are so rare and valuable that they will only increase in value. They will never decrease. Pokemon is so popular and unique that the cards will literally never cap in value as time goes on. Even a card printed in 2010 will have an absurd amount of value in ~2080.

Great collection. FYI though, No Rarity cards are only recorded to have ever been in the starter decks not in the base set boxes. Starter Decks were printed before the boxes were released from what I've read, and were corrected when printing started for base set boxes.
I also believe that not every pack in the Japanese base set is guaranteed a holo I believe it’s a 50% chance so 30 holos in the box.
