Very nice job covering the basics. I am sharing this not to brag but to show what’s possible. I’m retired and I have 2 separate portfolios. One is a long term growth dividend portfolio of stocks where i sell covered calls strategically and my 2nd portfolio is the Crypto trading strategy where its all about income. This year I am on pace to make $120K in realized options profits and around $730K in crypto profit... What is great is that my long-term portfolio is still up significantly as well. As such, it’s possible to generate excellent income but still have a total return perspective. ...Amidst this, the insights of a knowledgeable guide like that of Donna Mikalonis can be crucial. Her expertise in navigating the nuances of trading has been the key for Me understanding and making the most of these emerging financial trends.

The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional.

It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot sir Brian! Imagine i invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days

Trusting the closed source CC with your main stash and trashing open source Trezor.
    That makes no sense.
Trezor even has a Bitcoin only firmware.
Open Source is way more important than USB.

Scary situation. Decoy storage is definitely an option. Have like 2 or 3 sold storage hardware wallets hidden around the house with small amounts of Bitcoin in them, so if they ask you "where is the rest of your crypto?" You can fool them with 2 or 3 decoy hardware wallets worth less than $1000. Then your main wallet or wallets will be safe.

I guess I respectfully disagree with your position on not plugging your hardware wallet into a PC. As long as you have a power only USB cord, it is not possible to steal BTC through a USB port. If someone is really paranoid, the inner 2 pins of the USB plug can be taped to guarantee that no data is transferred leaving the outer 2 pins that only provide power. Such a power only USB cable is perfectly safe.

@@NotMe-wh5vb I never claim to be right on the technical side of things. I do not understand the inner workings of it all well enough to say for sure.

@@88SATSradio No problem, understand you are being extra cautious. It is also possible to buy a USB "condom" on E-bay for a few bucks. This adapter plugs in between the PC and the USB plug to block the two inner data pins from working.

A safer bet when using a Trezor is using a computer that you do not use for web surfing, email, etc etc. Wipe the computer, clean OS/Hard-drive. Uninstall all default apps and use it primarily to access your Trezor.

Passport is waaayy better and easier to use for most people than CC. And also, I don’t know about the reason why CC decided not to be FOSS is due to what you just mentioned, there’s a whole discussion about it on Twitter.

air gap better than usb? first time I hear this.. I would prefer a hard pluck and secure element plus open source than having connection module or what is the argument for air gap?

    • @VamosViverFora
      @VamosViverFora 10 дней назад

Airgapped and Offline is excellent. Using QR code to read and sign (exporting the signed transaction) is way less risky. Keep in mind that coldcard, keystone and passport have more the one secure element. Coldcard allows you to access via usb-c plugged and microsd card as well.

@anewcreature7 yes I'm definitely not an expert on this subject. This was just something I came across when researching the Passport.
But I do remember hearing that Coldcard moved away from being open source and NVK discussing it. I don't think he gave Passport stealing their code as the reason haha
I don't love that coldcard isn't open source - regardless of the reason.
But I still use CC for the small amount of bitcoin I have left after Arnie ate the seed phrase 😂
Both seem like great options to me.
