Hi @MidfiGuy any plans to come out with part 3? been waiting for 3 months now :) wanting to pull the trigger on Soloist but wondering if id be good with SA1 or go all out and get either GSX Mini or Violetric. Pairing with Arya v2, ZMF Autuer and Hd6xx ( may be susvara down the line) with Ares2 and BF2 upstream
pretty spot on impressions of the Liquid Platinum, I cap modded mine. It address's some of your concerns. Bit more definition across the board. Resolution and clarity are improved and bass cleaned up a bit, while still being a Liquid Platinum. There's some suggested parts listed in the LP thread on head-fi. The mod is cheap and quick if you have any soldering skills. Also, I see you using the single ended input in your headphone test. That's a big no-no with the LP. The Balanced output is dramatically better. I hope you did not do any critical listening test in SE mode.
Thank you much!! What do you think of the headphone test "Test Bench" parts? Are they helpful or do you think I can cut them out of future videos? In my head it was a good idea but after re-watching the final product I'm re-evaluating their value.
@@MidFiGuy no if find it useful as they are common headphones people have or have heard. Touching on headphones synergy is def valuable. The Dac synergy is probably less valuable and more specific.
@@MidFiGuy the test bench idea is actually quite fantastic..puts alot into perspective esp. to understand synergy.. reference for comparison videos out there!!
Great work! One of the best I've seen! It's nice to have an overview of pairings with various headphones but also dac amp pairings are especially valuable as not always good dac+good amp= great combo. Look forward to pt.3.
Part 2 did not disappoint. Very informative again. Was surprised to hear that the Flux Labs HPA’s came across so bright. Curious if the FA-22 has a more balanced sound signature as it’s reported to. Looking forward to Part 3 and preparing my wallet in anticipation 😬
Late to watch this, but really well-articulated review and comparo-as per usual! I like how you contrast the amps as it definitely helps get a clearer picture of how they're different. Glad you got to this one! 😊🍻
I’ve always been a huge Flux fan. So thanks for your insight into this particular amp. Makes me feel better about the upcoming buy 😎 Now it’s my holiday weight that I find to be in flux LOL 😜
Can't wait to hear the FA22 I bought! It's supposed to be the best of the 10 and 12S combined 🤞🏼 I hope it would synergize nicely with an Eikon or TH909 PS you're the only reviewer who I watch at 1x speed because I don't want to miss a single detail. Awesome review as always! 🇵🇭
Absolutely great video, part 1 and 2. The details, the level to which you took your comparisons. Much appreciated! Just one question, please - 3:31 - where can one get a rhino figurine like that? I need it! :)
Great informative video as always. How does the flux compare with the Kinki Vision TR-1, Burson soloist 3xp and Audio Gd Master 19 ? Thanks in advance.
Hey when doing the review and comparison vs280 vs v340 could you consider the changes in the revision of the v280 that come along in the ‘Final Edition’ If possible pairing with SMSL D1se DAC would be great if you could also continue the advice for different music genres like electronic music, hip-hop, jazz etc. in terms of dynamic and low-end, mid and high
I keep changing my preference between the Jot2 and the SA-1, I won’t be using IEM’s on a desk stack, the SA-1 has issues with gain switches, mod or not mod, strange volume range the Jot2 is over powered on low gain and needs a dac with variable or a preamp. Maybe I’ll just spend the extra and get the Burston soloist
Pleassssssss HELPPPPP Which of the amplifiers you presented would you suggest for my Audeze LCD X 2021 and my Fifiman Ananda Version 2021. I would also need a matching DAC Thanks

Your Showdown gets at an issue with reviews: how a piece of equipment performs depends to a significant degree on what it is paired with. In this case, you need synergy between the amp, DAC and headphone. For example, the system I listen to the most is the iFi Signature amp and DAC designed for the 6XX headphone. The amp and DAC are designed to work together and the combo was designed for the this headphone. Not surprisingly, it works very well. But if the iFi amp was in your review as a stand alone device, I doubt it would do well. In this context, highly resolving amps that may be too analytical on their own can be paired with other equipment like a R2R DAC or tube preamp to produce a very satisfying sound. And a combo like this still depends on the headphone you are using and what brings out the best in it. All of this makes your job really difficult as there is no way for you to know how any one of these amps will integrate in the existing system of your viewers
I'm holding my breath for an amp that you like the Arya with...I'm putting my money on the Burson soloist, but I guess that'll have to wait for next video!
FA-10 review doesn't sound like any other impression. was that unit had the 300-350h break in period? 2nd I do have Qtest and I would not call it detailed. Well I guess technically it does qualify as such, but the sound is thin and lacks texture. Sure it does have some qualities, but I would not consider it an end game in any way. It is not an engaging fun dac, it is not detailed linear dac, and at the end of the day you are left lacking and wanting for something more. Hardly a satisfying sentiment to have at the end of a listening session.
@@vvidover Yeah that's how this channel lives, wouldn't have been possible to get this much passionate and detailed insides from MidFi Guy. In the end it gives so much orientation to get an overview of the hi- / mid-fi universe 🙂

Would have been nice to see the Rebel Amp in the mix- it's certainly a challenger in the $500 range. Great series tho, looking forward to part 3!
This series has been the best headphone amp comparison I've ever seen on YT. By a mile no less!

Looking forward to part 3! Especially regarding the soloist. I love your videos!! So engaging.
Nice Video! Really looking forward for the 3rd part! Enjoy your holidays!
Thank you!!
Great work! I really appreciate your videos. You have introduced me to Violectric brand - so far the best solid state I've ever owned.
The gustard H16 and H20 are worth a look ..and no good reviewers have reviewed them yet. nice work. love the voice overs.
Would be great to see part 3 soon!

Thanks for the detailed reviews, they are really great and helped me clarify, which amp suits my purposes! Great job! 😄
Its been 3 months still waiting for Part 3 to see what Burson can bring.
@MidfFi Guy cmon, no bite on where you got the switcher from?

Please try to get hold of the RebelAmp from Rebel Audio. It's a solid state, class A, single ended desktop amp.
Missed the boat without the Flux Labs FA-22. But I did enjoy this review.

Nice work! I'd like to see the Quicksilver headphone amp reviewed if ever you do a similar series for tube amps!
Hey, where is the part 3?? It was supposed to be up this weekend
Great work.
These reviews are great. Thank you.
Hi there ! What is the reference of the Zynsonix rca dispatcher please ?
So, I'm looking for that Zynsonix switcher you have... Is it old because I can't find it on their website, and I SO NEED THAT UNIT!!
Oh nice. A zynsonix switcher. Bryan does great work
Great comparison, mate

Is there a big difference between sa1 and fa10 in terms of imaging and soundstage?
FLUX is not bright at all! You're using the wrong source or headphones. Or there's something in your head)

What rca selector are you using?
Need to hear the Volot! If you got hard to drive planars then the fa-10 will run ahead of the fa-12
