  • At Easter we managed a blissful 36 hours on the Island of Raasay. No doubt about it, the best views of Skye are on Raasay. As ever in Scotland, the cycling was tough but rewarding.
The music is a tune called “Tommy Darky’s Welcome to Raasay”. Tommy Darky was an accordion player from Lewis who emigrated to Australia and made a musical name for himself in expat circles. I guess he must have written this tune but I can’t quite imagine it on accordion. Anyway, I think it works so well on Uillean pipes that I ended up doubling the fun with a duet part, and threw in a jazz tinged flute improvisation for luck.
