The one question I'd like you guys to answer is whether or not Daboll should be a head coach. He seems to be a fine OC but he leaves me wondering if he should be a HC. My confidence in him has been shaken this year. Any thoughts?
And i agree with yall on Daboll. This offense was built for DJ and he's no longer here. Feel like everyone just thinks you can completely revamp a entire play book halfway through the season. Like you can just change all the terminology and everything else that goes along with it at the drop of a hat. That doesn't happen
I'm not even sure it ever was. Shurmur tried to do that, while Daboll simple pruned his preexistent and non-DJ offense so it could be managed by a slow and largely inept QB like him. That worked for exactly one season on a soft fourth place schedule with few or no good defenses to test it.
It’s difficult to accurately judge this pass rush when the team is so rarely in advantageous pass rush situations. They never have a lead and they seldom force 3 & longs. So how exactly can you make such proclamations about the quality of the pass rushers? Brian Burns would prob have a lot better numbers if he had better opportunities. You know, the type of opportunities that NYG opponents usually get.
Okay, so he's (Burns or KT) an average player, dependent upon the team around him. Not a disruptive player in his own right. Was that worth a 2nd and a 5th, plus the big contract? Is he improving?

Unfortunately not only is Brian Burns the most underrated/underappreciated defensive player in the league right now, but he's easily the unluckiest player I think I've ever come across, well actually he's #3 behind Joe Thomas and Anthony Munoz. Quick recap of Burns: Currently in his 6th season and playing for his 7th Head Coach/6th Defensive Coordinator/2nd team. He's never been on a team that had an offense ranked better than 20th in total pts/yds in his career. NY is dead last in pts this year and that happened twice when he was on the Carolina Panthers. Just to reiterate how demoralizing that can be, the 2024 NYG Defense has allowed 2 or fewer touchdowns in 10 different games this year, they are 2-8 in those games, that is absolutely insane this day and age. In 2024 Burns is currently ranked (amongst all DE/OLB) #1 Defensive Stops, #1 Passes Defended, #2 Solo Tackles, #20 Assisted Tckls, #5 Forced Fumbles, #5 TFLs, #10(tied) Sacks, #14 Hurries, #16 total pressures, #19 QB Hits. He's double teamed at the same exact rate as TJ Watt, getting doubled 13% of his pass rush snaps. His 47 pass rush wins are the 4th most amongst all defensive players and his pass rush win rate of 23% is also tied for 4th. If he played for Bal/SF/Pitt/Dallas/KC he'd be in the DPOY and AP 1st team All-Pro conversation yearly. ** All statistics compiled from PFF.com, PFR.com, ESPN.com, trenchwarfare.substack.com ** Oh and most importantly I've had him as my DE/OLB1 in my IDP league since his 2nd yr and he's finished in the top every year but 1.

Mckinney, Barkley, and a top of the 2nd round pick, or Brian Burns? It's not even debatable, Schoen has been a trainwreck. Bringing back Gettelman would be an improvement.
I observed Brian Burns rush the QB, taking an inside route, get trapped inside by a larger, more powerful offensive lineman, and give up huge gains of two consecutive plays last game. He and Thibo are too similar players, undersized edge pass rushers, who are not particularly fast, forced to cheat taking an inside route to the QB, exposing the outside edge to big gains by running backhand QB escaping the pocket. Neither Thibo or Burns are very good against the run.
Schoen gets credit for "fixing OL" by media, but in beginning of year OL sucked at run blocking. In fact 1st cowboy game and Bengals game were lost bc of bad OL run blocking. And Tracy didn't start running well until Steelers game with Hubbard. OL was problem all year.

Unfortunately, they're paying him to be that xfactor. Good player, glad he's a giant, but that situation is the least of our issues. I wouldn't necessarily call it a offseason mistake either.
To me the biggest mistake was letting Mckinney walk by far. The team was slowly starting to put something together in its secondary with Mckinney, Pinnock and Banks in place. That was flushed down the toilet. Even before the Giants let Mckinney go i said I'd rather him over Dexter Lawrence. I tell people all the time that you can draft interior D lineman late in drafts that can get job done for this football team. It happens year in and year out. I would never invest big money like the giants have in a interior player. Even though Dexter's contract is reasonable its still a good chunk of change.

I truly believe Schoen is just a bad GM. I get why Mara doesn’t want to continue this revolving door of coaches and front office but if the guy isn’t the guy why keep him! For the sake of saving face??
Barkley makes this team win the division easily....Dumbest decision ever....if Barkley js on this team...everyone keeps their jobs. Hurts has played worse than all 3 of the Giants QBs this year, and the Eagles own the Division. Also, Malik was WR 2 in LSU...He is too small to be a deep threat as a WR 1...the Jags were right in drafting EJ.
I hear what you guys are saying but the Giants offensive line has been garbage for over 9 years now. What makes you think things would change now. And who do you blame for this???
@d-nice1209 This team is far from having 1 or 2 players turn things around. We need to trade down, get more assets. We built from 0 trenches last draft. Russel Wilson, James Winston, Tyrod Taylor for next year.
Thibo is not near the elite player, disruptive force that a team expects and needs out of a high draft pick. He consistently cheats taking an inside route to the QB, getting trapped inside by offensive linemen who are much larger and more powerful that he, exposing the outside edge to huge gains by running backs and QBs, on several plays each game. He is also not good against the run, and not very fast, despite being undersized, so he doesn't have the ability to out-maneuver or beat offensive linemen with his speed and quickness.
The whole teams tackling Technique sucks ,Nobody wraps up ,Tackle with thete head down ,Take shots too the chest instead of getting low ,Not following the hips of the ball carrier ,Basic youth football Techniques are forgotten!
Do guys really think Bobby O was a good move? I feel like he's okay in coverage TE's still murder us I feel like McFadden was a nice surprise in run support. Guys I would love to see what a Good/Decent QB could do with our WR core I think they are way better then has been on the field I think Robinson is way underrated and having 2 TE that are capable not taking advantage of them because they have to block/chip for us to get a pass off. I agree with you guys on Burns, 30 mill on Burns was a win now move in my opinion we knew we won't playoff bound this year if where being honest with ourself. Bringing in a Vet Corner would of helped our young Backfield I agree on that one two.
"The giants have a better rushing attack than last year..." He says this as Barkley is having a career year. What a joke of football experts you both are... The 2nd round pick for Burns could have been used to draft a lineman. Or even better, trade to move up and draft a QB. This show is becoming unlistenable
In another video they made it clear he just wasn't a good fit for the team. It made sense considering he was constantly injured. Team just wasn't the right fit for him unfortunately.

Disagree with Andy reed coaching tree. Jon harbough, Sean McDermott, spags, as well as a bunch of guys who at least had some success albeit short time (pedersen, rivera)
Cam Ward will save the day
Trade down. We need way more than Cam Ward.
@ no guarantee we will pick top 3 again to get a QB like last year would cost all those picks you get this year and MORE to move back up to get a qb. Time to finally get one. We will have money to spend as well as the top picks in 2nd and 3rd round to trade down if needed
@@achilles8936 Ward with his mistakes when he's under pressure is gonna save the day. I guess you didn't have enough of that over the last 6 years. You're like a battered spouse who keeps coming back for more.
No plan for Andrew Thomas going down. AGAIN. Worst move.
Should be a plan for replacing Thomas in about 2 years when his guaranteed money is up.
Can we develop some impact player WE draft instead of getting players OTHER teams draft and paying a heavy price for them…our development needs to be better and we need to keep our homegrown talent will Xavier/Saquon…Burns is underperforming for what we gave up and paid….leonard williams trade looked great at the time but our problem is using the picks effectively
Bottom line, you need to pick the right players who have room to grow.
No, but he can’t do it all himself. That’s why Burns was brought in. Those three when healthy are a hydra.
I miss fat Daboll
Why does Bobby look so young today ?
Why pay a ton of money to a player who plays on a loosing team and does not elevate the team defense.
I truly believe Schoen is just a bad GM. I get why Mara doesn’t want to continue this revolving door of coaches and front office but if the guy isn’t the guy why keep him! For the sake of saving face??
Get a QB that can run…I.eee PM, JA, LJ, JD…….
Nothing about your statement is correct.
I hear what you guys are saying but the Giants offensive line has been garbage for over 9 years now. What makes you think things would change now. And who do you blame for this???
You must want manning
Yes.
@BrettM765 got it soo after waiting 10 years we should wait another 10 more years. Smh
Way too many ads
I feel like Daboll hasn't developed anyone. All I see is regression.
The whole teams tackling Technique sucks ,Nobody wraps up ,Tackle with thete head down ,Take shots too the chest instead of getting low ,Not following the hips of the ball carrier ,Basic youth football Techniques are forgotten!
Patricia Traina said they don't use the big donut anymore. Whatever that is.
Day 78754 of Bobby mentioning Abdul Carter
No, they aren’t ready to compete for a championship.
Get the plane out
I ain’t pay for that plane
@@chefaahz That response? Best part of the game.
Bobby O's contract was restructured so the giants are stuck with him for 1 more year.
"The giants have a better rushing attack than last year..."
He says this as Barkley is having a career year.
