Hi Rebecca, Why doesn't use gerund verb after them? What's the function of "To" in sentence? I'm bit confusing about it. I've studied that after "look forward to" we ever use gerund form, is this correct?

Hi Rebecca. How do you do?. It's been really really fun learning English from you. I just love the way you teach.Keep it up. There's a clue I'm having that I want you to kindly clarify. I'm currently studying engineering & when I was in my 5th grade, there was a boy Johnny with me & he's still alive. What should it be said like. 1)There was a boy named Johnny in my class. or 2)There is a boy named Johnny who was with me when I was in 5th grade. I think both the two are correct. But because he's still alive,is the 1st one correct, the word "was" is being used. Please help me with this. If possible make a video on this & all other things related to this topic. I'm really confused with such things. Bye.Take care.
