Judge Toler & the audience were laughting because its literally ridiculous how someone can do such horrible things like the woman did and then just calmy say "Yeah. Yes" without any shame. Its shock, and its horrifing and ridiculous, so most people propably didnt know what to say/how to react to that, so they laught. Its that awkward kind of laughter when something happens and you only have to options: 1. be shocked into speechless silence or 2. laugh about how ridiculous it is that something like this could happen.
So no, I don't think they were laughting about the man or the abuse, they were laughing about how shamless this woman is and she doesnt even recognize whats wrong with her actions.
I might be stretching here because I haven’t seen the full episode to understand the actual dynamic between the two, but the man who said he was legitimately scared to tell his wife he got fired because of her anger and then everyone else laughing made me feel kinda bad.
