My son is training to be a police officer. He’s a helper. Always has been. I’ve lived with a disability for years. He’s always been by my side. Now he’ll be there for others.
You have raised the heart of a good man. Going into emergency services, it would be really beneficial if he made a semi-regular habit to see an emergency services psychologist, even quarterly. A therapist you connect with (it’s like dating!) is worth their weight in gold. Scheduled quarterly visits provide the opportunity for things he’s carrying/ affecting him to naturally and gently surface in a safe environment. Reminding him that he runs daily, eats well, has a rich social life, sleeps 8 hours etc are pro_active_ and pro_tective_ initiatives he takes for his physical, social, and emotional health; his mental health demands the same. It’s interesting how some police get PTSD and others don’t- they are all repeatedly exposed to traumatic horrors, the brain simply hasn’t evolved to be resilient to that. _Unless_ other protective factors are in place. Most importantly though, and it sounds like you already share this relationship, is that he knows -for certain - he can tell you anything, anytime. The greatest gift a parent can give their child -if they’re 10 or 50 - is to tell them explicitly “You can always tell me the truth of how you are feeling. You don’t burden me, your problems don’t burden me. You are nothing less than the imperfect, messy, human light of my life. No problem is ever too big or too bad to fix’ It’s so clear how proud you are of your son. Congratulations to you on raising a wonderful man. It’s probably a period of adjustment for you, too. Maybe he has moved out of home now, or you have less care available to you. Make sure you reach out for help, don’t feel ashamed or that you aren’t entitled to professional services. Prayers for a long and safe, fulfilling and happy career for your son, congratulations again ✨
You must be incredibly proud of your son. My eldest son tried to join the airforce, but due to a bad shoulder injury which required surgery, they didn’t pass him. He’s is gutted. 🌸
7:25 that guy is legit a hero without a badge. He deserves everything for having quicker thinking then even the police. Saving a child can make the super hero come right out of you.
I mean, what an amazing man!!! I was full -on having a panic attack watching this hero!!! He could’ve easily been overcome by that thick smoke!!!! So brave.
I think I remember reading that the guy was a family member to the kid. So being related to her, it obviously pushed him to try extra hard to save her.
I live with epilepsy. I have needed help from police, paramedics, and people in the public. You’d be surprised how many people want to help. Some, pass you by, and I can understand that my illness is confronting. The emergency services have ALWAYS treated me so kindly. I thank them all. And, to those who stopped but didn’t have to, I thank you 🙏🏽
For real!! Most intense video I’ve watched in awhile!!!! That civilian rescuing those kids in the apartment fire was just amazing. There was no way that cop was gonna locate a ladder in time to save them from serious smoke inhalation or worse. Total heroes all of them though.
The woman in the submerging car is a clear example of the "deer frozen in the headlights" reaction. Some people, in the face of fatal danger, simply freeze up which causes them to not be able to make decisions, take action or even follow rescuers instructions. When mass shootings occur, unfortunately, there are certain people who freeze in place... which seals their fate. Mad respect to Police and Fire/Rescue!
Wow I was not ready for all this… my adrenaline is goin!!! I don’t usually watch such high intensity real stuff like this… God bless all these hero’s that run into danger and risk their lives 🙏🏻
I really liked the man who helped the officer drag the guy away from the fire and kept saying come on baby :) it was nice because it was obvious he was saying it because the guy was hurt and he was kind. I really appreciate all of these people who risked themselves to save others!
2:48 pretty sure they were able to get her out because the car fully engulfed with water. If you ever crash in and cant get out thats what you have to wait for because then the pressure is equal on the inside and out and you can open it. Before then theres too much pressure on the door of the water trying to get in and it cant be forced open.
Man, all these videos were so emotional. God bless our men in uniform. This is the side of law enforcement the media fails to portray. Thank you all for your service. 👮♂️ 🇺🇸
LORD protect these men an women , they see so much stuff in a daily life. My heart goes out to them. They put their own life's at risk just to save others,
This is the best video I've seen on RUclips. Poor police officers get such a hard time trying to do their jobs, and this is a great reminder of how heroic and amazing police officers really are. Blessings on all of you
Im one of those anti-dirty-cop guys and I'm here to tell you that you missed a lot of the best videos of these law enforcement folks saving people! Should be top 20 videos at least
Ty EMT's, Fire Departments and Police!!! You've saved my life many times due to my severe hypoglycemia attacks!! I love you very much. I'm here due to your help!!!
In a world where vigilantes stalk the street's due to the constant outlandish video's of the scrutinized image of police officers it's good to see something positively representing.
Agreed, there are so many amazing police officers, yet there's negative videos trying to paint them negatively as a whole. Which is not the case in anyway. I agree there's been many police who shouldn't have been in the first place, although that doesn't have anything to do with the majority who do everything for the good of others in their communities. Without police, this country would be pure chaos. God bless everyone in emergency fields
There are bad cops and good cops, we can spend all our life insulting the few bad cops there are or we can spend it honoring the brave and heroic cops littered throughout the force, respect to these and all cops.
Crazy the civilian man rescued both kids yet the cops got all the praise on the news saying they rescued them and never corrected anything. The kids would’ve died bc those cops weren’t going inside that apartment.
I personally love and respect the profession. The are the every day heroes like firefighters and everyone protecting our country. Yes there are some bad apples but it’s the exception like any other field.
As an individual with epilepsy, you should always roll the person on their side. Never on their back, never hold them down. Never leave them until the fit is over. Seizures that last 5min or more are fatal
1st clip I was there when this happened. 1st clip happened in Kennewick Washington on 395/Ely & Kennewick Ave. in the Rid Aid parking lot where Carl’s Jr. is. Kennewick is part of Tri-City, Wa (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) my home town.

You have raised him this way so thanks to both of you
Hearing that baby cry was wonderful. Best sound. Means she’s alive, and conscious. Poor baby.
Oh my gosh was I a crying mess. That civilian who got them out is truly amazing.

Amen to that and even went inside the other little girl. I hope they also recognized him publicly.

The civilian who helped rescue the baby is also a hero! Thank you all.
Enough to make a grown man cry
That guy that broke the window is a hero he really jumped in that burning building and saved them kids
They run towards the danger helping they don't care about colores, creed, gender , religion they just risk it all to help. Thank you!

Yeah I've read about that and that particular clip seems to be one of the clearest examples of someone freezing up during a traumatic moment.
Well done to the gentleman who
helped rescue the kid in the fire
MUCH RESPECT! He should become
an OFFICER or a FIRST RESPONDER. 💙
With all the negative news all around the world it's heart warming watching the Cops doing their job saving people
Nice to see civilians help too.
The man that got the kids out of the apartment fire was truly amazing.

at 2:22 hearing that woman's gurgle as the car sunk was terrifying
Wow! Thank you officers and brave citizens!!!
the cop had that resperator on and he didnt even get near the building. The man saved both children and the cops took credit.
Thank you & bless you to all the heroes who risk their lives everyday for strangers
Thank you for this. To often people forget how brave you have to be to wear that uniform respect to everyone who does their job this admirably.

Kudos to the first responders. Larger Kudos to the pedestrians who did just as much, if not more to help out.
