@@tradecraftsecrets - Rench gives off major narcissistic vibes which is irritating and cringe to watch IMO, compared to Hess and Naroditsky who are both very humble and know enough to always give great insight, even at the top levels.

I love how the most stressful situation for Levy is having a completely won endgame against Eric and knowing he has to avoid drawing tricks under time pressure. Like you can see his focus levels increase precisely when anyone who didn't know Eric's schtick would be relaxing. it's hilarious and totally warranted, Eric is a demon at swindling draws.
1:47:25 Jordan hit 6 3s in a finals game against Portland, Game 1, 1992. The narrative around that series was that Drexler was a more complete player because Jordan wasn't a 3-pt shooter. That ended in a half.
I watched the match love so no spoilers here. Also not hating od course (way too many toxic people online these days) But that message is literally a spoiler lmao
Also something I really enjoyed about this was, Levy and Eric already are incredible players in my eyes; to have Danya and Jeff point out mistakes and missed opportunities so quickly just shows how high the skill ceiling goes in chess.
well the prediction came true! eric obliterated levy in bullet here's another forecasting: eric will win the tournament and get the GM title norm before levy!
Bullet has little to do with classical. It would take years for both of them to become GMs, and Eric has said it's not really an objective he has at the moment. So I'm not really sure who will be first.
doubt either get it. and rapid/blitz/bullet is a lot different than otb GM classic. thats not meant to take away from Eric who has clearly gotten a lot better.
Levy looked like a crazy street person: mussed hair, wrinkled sleeveless shirt, scraggly facial hairs, & incessantly talking to himself while occasionally waving his arms 57:13 😂😂
Rosen, you're a total Master and a Monk! congrats... best on the series. Gotham, congrats on an amazing first 1/2... and heres to continued success! fans of both, and the chess friendship... you guys should start a Mates that Mate series. :-)
If Levy was streaming as he was playing, then he was putting himself at a tremendous disadvantage, because you can't play your best chess while you're explaining the moves to your viewers.
OMG. Eric is back this year with a bang especially in the shorter blitz and bullet portion where he squeezed the 🥛. Throughly loved the commentary by the two friends Naroditsky and Hess. Thanks Levy and Eric for the great match. Since I love both of them equally, I’m quite happy this year Eric dominated.
I feel like Levy was better at newish positions but Eric was much better at the positions they'd be in a lot already. If Levy could get a rematch, it might be a good idea to mix up the openings more. Look at the end when he played the Bongcloud, suddenly he started playing good again.
How can I get a suggestion to Levi about a way to clear out the fear that's causing him to choke? Tell him to check out Emotional Freedom Technique - it will clear out the emotional and mental blocks he is head butting against. Best to find an EFT practitioner but can also be done on yourself. Works amazingly well with PTSD as well as clearing phobias.
Must be fun to be Narodistsky and hear the back and forth between these IMs and knowing that he's about 10 levels above them and would crush them down a queen. You don't often get a commentator that dominates the actual players in the game
Well, that's kinda self-explanatory, considering there are like 3.8k active IMs out of 600 million players. About one in 150k players ends up achieving IM status. These people are already legends, just nowhere near >2700 level. I'm saying this because there is noticable elo deflation btw. Having a 2400 rating right now means your rating would have been higher in 1922 by a significant chunk. Current IMs play more accurately than weak GMs back then I'd say. If you look at acpl graphs it's a consistent trend, on the same elo players keep getting better and being more accurate, and this isn't even just due to opening computer prep, though that is a part of it too.
@@scoutbane1651 You´re probably right. Eric has however beaten strong Gm´s a few times. For example he beat Hikaru in a bullet game and I believe he has beaten Magnus also once.
