great job transcribing this, Jason! I saw the Fudge performing this one back in 1968 at the Philadelphia Civic Center...The opening act was none other than the Mothers of Invention....
Awesome! Brought back a lot of memories. Used to play that one back in the late 60s but didn't have all the runs correct like you played it. Well done.
Jason, Thanks for a doing this request. There is no bass cover any where for Tim’s fantastic bass line. Fantastic transcription and playing. Another great song by VF is Take Me for a Little While. There is a solo that is so fast. If you get a chance please consider transcribing that one? Thank you so much Frank
Nice transcription of Tim’s bass line but here’s a hint, the time signatures are wrong in the intro. It’s all in 4/4 (5+7=12). That first snare drum hit is on beat 4 of the measure making the first E is on the “and” of beat 4, or the second 8th note. It’s difficult to tell where the one is from the beginning because there’s no rhythm instruments during the organ intro, and this version is edited from the original album track. The organ changes are on the upbeat, not the downbeat. It throws you, sort of like the intro to The Beatles’ Drive My Car.
Epic song from 1966. It's so psychedelic. Love those Motown style bass lines.
I’ve been trying to find a bass cover of this for ages. Thank you!
This is phenomenal! I love this song
Perfection! Tim would have been proud of him.☝
Great stuff!!! And Bogert was kinda insane! 😀
I must have searched for this the week before you posted it! Just popped up into my recommended feed. So excited to try this one out.

Nice, thanks!
Classic jewel wuooo
Complete with Tim’s mistake. 😉 That’s what I loved about recording in the old days.
Thanks
What is that bass model?
Listening to this song in late 60’s while tripping on acid sounds like fun until Charles Manson’s goons come to my house uninvited.
