If anyone is on the fence about getting this pattern. totally do it. I made one with a soft deer hide and it has since become the envy of my D&D nights.
I've heard that the antique balm is better for smaller projects. Less moisture and saturation means less chance of it totally darkening the piece. Also I've gotten in the habit of buying antiques that are just a shade darker than what it already looks like. Like light brown or saddle tan or whatever it's called. And if I'm not happy with it, I do a second coat! End product still looks great though!
I learned a lot since this video. Was just a poor choice of resist in the end really. Or poorly applied.
I love that you kept in the blooper with the resist, that made me laugh.
Still a favorite design I need to replicate one of these days; watching alot of your content kinda inspired me to get back into leatherwork. Was never all that great at it, but I still love it.

Could you use resist as a form of masking off a part of the design before you paint on either the die or paint? All the best from Scotland
You 100% can do that, I haven't done it myself, but I know one of the Discord members does it all the time, beautiful stuff.

Long time fan here, been following your channel for a little over 2 years now. I was looking through the paints on your page shop and was surprised to see the metallic/pearlescent color set. Seems like it could be good for one of my new projects, but I've never seen what it actually looks like. Is there a project video you've used one of these (especially the pearl white), and if not would you consider doing so in a future video?

Dude why you call this ASMR when it's a bunch of music
You're right. I do often get those tingles just from relaxing music and people building stuff but I'd prefer it to be no music and just tool sounds. This was an old video so I couldn't have just tool sounds and kind of fudged it. You've inspired me to go back and make some title edits.
